I use Photoshop CS2, but there are others out there that will resize for the web very quickly and do it in batches...

if its for resizing for the web, I'd make a copy of the original and re-size that. For something like that, Picasa by google (free download from here: Picasa (http://services.google.com/picasa_referrals_en-uk.html?ai=B7qD7jrEbRvmcIYzK0wTLhtG8DIznohWQxYj8Ac WNtwEAEAEgjaSYBTgBUOzs_bj7_____wFgu66zg9AKoAGyu6f9 A7IBEnd3dy5vbWljcm9uLnVrLmNvbcgBAtoBL2h0dHA6Ly93d3 cub21pY3Jvbi51ay5jb20vc2VyYS9mb3J1bS9pbmRleC5waHA_ gAIBqAMD&gclid=CI6n05jBuIsCFT4GQgodqWmJ3A) ) will resize using the export function.

quickest and easiest i've found is the microsoft image resizer power toy.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

to use all you need to do is right click on an image select resize and then select the size you want. it will then resize and create a copy.
