I've been out on the bike this morning ,no cars ,empty roads,I'm coming to the conclusion that 1: I will get banned or 2: I will come off big style,it's trying to pull wheelies out of every corner, look at the speedo and you're going at least 30mph more than you think, and my town halls are taking a battering on the tank, maybe time for an enduro?

Or as I have, gear your bike down but don't recalibrate the speedo so it overreads everywhere "****e, I'm doing 140! Oh wait, no I'm only doing 120, phew!"

It's geared down as it is, but the pickup for the speedo would have to be altered.

Spend more time on the track, a much bigger buzz (with no chance of a big ticket) :thumb:

Try a proper one. Go borrow a Fat Boy for a day and leave your preconceptions at home...

If you don't spend most of the time grinning like an idiot then you have no soul.

Would I buy one given the room and the spare cash? Like a shot. Could I live with one as an only bike? Um, no. But I'm not having the crisis you are. :p

Sounds to me like you need to get yourself one of these;)

Trust me, with 70's suspension and brakes 60mph feels like all the speed you'll ever need:eek::cool:

You wouldnt belive it I road a mint one a few years ago,it was like riding an armchair ,really comfy, but as you say ,gives the impression of speed, without it! if you know what I mean, every corner was a challange.

Try a different type of biking, greenlaning or touring...just a thought.

Greenlaning might be the one ,but what bike? is there something that can greenlane and keep up with motorway traffic?

That one's going to get mildly cafe'd when I find the time:) Like you say it's a really comfy ride, but I think it just needs a bit more edge to it:)

morning :)

i've got a yam ttr600, with supermoto wheels :thumb:

flat out at a ton but will cruise along just under it,
its the first supermoto i've had and find it great fun, without the 3 figure speeds:thumb:
plus you can bouce over kerbs etc take short cuts, which you can't on a road bike, then swap back to the offroad wheels and away up the hills at weekend,
the only mods are ohlins suspension and brembo brakes and a rear can:lol1:
worth a try mate
