Default Driving nirvana in NI

Now that it seems i'm holding on to my STi for a while longer, may as well use my membership a bit!

Wheres your fave roads for a blast in NI? For me 2 spring to mind straight away.

1: Wee short one this, out of Lisburn towards Annahilt past Mackies estate, over the cross roads towards Ballykeel & down into Dromore.

2: Around the Antrim coast & up over the cliff roads past Torr Head & onto Ballycastle.

the one you are talking about heading out towards annahilt is a favourite of mine as well for a short run. There isnt that many good routes close to Lisburn but the best i think are up round the mournes.

The back road from Antrim through Tardree forest over to Larne is an absolute blast. Like a special stage and never too much traffic. just be careful as it has several "launch pads" on it and wouldnt be good if you had lowered your car at all. Havent taken the scoob over it, but had a VERY spirited run in an R32 Golf........say no more.....

Would also have to agree with the coast roaf from Larne, any day of the week except Sunday, when its full of bikers and custard dribblers LOL

only issue I have with the coast road is the lack of places selling SUL! I always take a 20L jerrycan with me & almost always need it.

take the road out to Rathkenny and keep heading towards cushendun, there is a junction on the left which will take you over the Orra Scenic Route - some cracking roads over there - keep taking the signs for cushendun, great scenery too if you have time to look at it!!!

TT
