My local speedway track (3 mins walk away) had a press and practice evening last friday, so I signed on and took a few shots from the infield.

Not too bad for what was only a second attempt at speedway, no light really, flash was needed almost straightaway.
Anyway excuses over, well apart from it was the first attempt at using my 1D MKII N in anger, so new camera and all that is excuse number 2 :D

More on my website as usual, click on these below for a better resolution image.

The 1D MKII N certainly didn't dissapoint, the operator just needs a bit more time with the manual.

I recently had to photograph BIG X UK (A drifting event), which was done at night with very little light. Getting anything without a flash was a real nightmare. But I persevered without flash, as I think it really ruins action shots, and at the end of the night I had maybe 40 shots that were useable. Not many granted, but I got a lot of satisfaction out of the fact that I'd got something which portrayed the action in such harsh conditions.
Perhaps try a few without it next time and see what you end up with:)

2nd one down is really :thumb:

Rest are, I'm afraid, spoiled in my opinion by having the action frozen so much by the flash... Good shots in their ow right, just a little sterile.

I know what you mean about reading the manual, though. My D2Xs has so many features that I don't even know what half of them mean, let alone how to use them...
