Hi been lookin around in here for a while since i wanted 2 upgrade my camera 2 a DSLR and ended up with a 350D not new but in top nick allways been in to takein photos so thought id get a decent camera

Im mostly goin 2 be taken pics of people and cars at shows and things like this so just wondered if any can advice on the lens i have the 18-55mm that came with it but is there one that may help take a better pic for what i want ?

allso for nighttime shots what if anything else can you advice to get that does not come with it better flash and so on

thanks for any advice or wisdom you can pass on to me

Just practice till you find the limitations of the kit lens, what you shoot doesn't sound too demanding, just see what you get first and then see where you need to go.

agree with CW above, once you find the limits of the kit lens, the only things that may help, would be a F2.8 lens say 16-35 or similar and a decent flash, 430EX or similar, these arent particularly cheap, but for what you want to take, will help specially with indoor shots! also a decent tripod for night shots is essential !

Best bet is get used to what you have, try as many different settings until you know what does what to the image, and then you can work out if you need to buy different lenses or flashes, or if what you have is good enough ! :)

Get a 50mm f/1.8mm canon prime lens. You won't believe the difference it will make to the quality of your pics. Every canon dSLR owner should have one!
