Hi

I've been with the same local insurance broker for probably the last 8 years and normally they'd do the shopping around for me or match somebody else if I thought the quote was a bit steep.

So for the sake of an easy life I've stayed with them and have now got 8 years no claims.

Just bought a wagon and I want to get PPP on it - the brokers have said they aren't really specialists in this area and not only will my current insurers not cover PPP, they can't find anyone else who will that they deal with.

I got a quote from Greenlight and asked them about the mod and they have come in lower than my current non-modded insurance !!! Waheey !!!

My question is how do I go about transferring my no-claims ? I got in a right mess when I moved to the my current insurance broker because it took my old company ages and ages to send a no-claims proof through so I'm a bit wary of just charging in and cancelling.

Any advise appreciated.....thanks

as far as im aware you just ask and when it comes through you send it on but if the new company is desperate for it they can ring and get it verbally or by email i presume!

Your new insurance company will take it on your word for two weeks that you have the no claims you say you do. You then have to provide proof within that time, this should be provided by your old company. If not get your new company to chase your old company!
