So Lampard isn't playing well for England this season.... and by that I mean he isn't scoring, but the bloke won England player of the year for two seasons in a row. How many of you have moved from harassing Hargreaves onto Lampard? Fortunes change in football, and Hargreaves deserved his player of the year award.

As for Gerrard I'm still waiting for him to get that award for England, and don't tell me its cos he plays out wide... the bloke doesn't play where he's told to which is one of his and England's downsides.

As I see it, Frank got on the end of three chances on Saturday. I'd rather that than watch Rooney run around trying to start a fight.... last time he scored a competitive England goal anyone?

Lampards a good player, and on form should be in the England team. Hell neither of them are setting the world on fire at the moment, BUT if MacLaren can't find a way to get the best out of both of them, ( and the mono syllabic tw@t hasn't got much of a clue ) then Lampard has to step aside.

rooney is meant to be world class didn't show that on saturday but thats lampard fault when lampard scores next time for england how dare any of you cheer :mad: (that will before rooney and co do)

As said in the other thread, Rooney isnt an out and out striker. He is far better when playing just behind the front but for England he cant do this. It works at MUFC so why oh why wont Mclaren do it for England. Same can be said for the other players playing out of position:mad:

If McLaren can't find a way to get the best out of an entire squad of players (or even play them in their natural positions), HE is the one who should be stepping aside:mad:

Gerrard for me... He does a lot more than just tw@t the ball aimlessly at goal 20 times a match...

The point is that because Gerrard is the better player he's been sacrificed and push to play out wide where you lose so much from his game. the problem is both his manager for club and country cant see this. It's no shock that Liverpool other than the good result over in Barca have not been beating teams since he's been pushed out to the right again. with Gerrard in the middle Liverpool charged up the league so much that the Liverpool fans thought they had a chance of the title (idiots).

Definetly Gerrard. He can control games like only the true greats can. Lampard can't do this at all. I can't think of one game that Lampard has completely overshadowed in the way that Gerrard/beckham/Cantona/Ronaldo etc. have done.

I think Lampard is overrated. He scores plenty but blazes too many 25 yarders wide when a simple pass would be far more likely to create problems.
The reason he looks so good for Chelsea and not for England is simple - Claude Makelele. He gives Lampard such free rein that it would be quite difficult not to look good.

Don't get me wrong, he is still a very good player, but not in the class of Gerrard.
