Yeah he did really well. Really should have had second. Mighty impressive first race.

What is it about Hertfordshire and motor racing drivers at the moment? You've got Lewis Hamilton, Anthony Davidson, Gary Paffett and a very good GP2 driver Mike Conway. Must be something in the water :)

Not a bad start to the season, I liked the comment about "Schumacher who?" in the pre-race stuff :D

I was very impressed with Lewis Hamilton, there is a lot of pressure on him to succeed, especialy considering his team mate is the reigning world champion.

Alonso seemed on good, though not spectacular form, but then this is the first race of 2007.

Man of the race? For me it has to be Massa, he did very well coming the back of the grid to finish in sixth place, not at all shabby.

Button had a terrible race, holding up his team mate then getting a drive through penalty (tyre issue? using a set of soft's instead of hards?).

All in all not a bad race and hopefully there will be a lot more action to come in the following races, am itching for June and Montreal!

Lewis did really well... i'm sure the rest of the drivers on the grid are sick of being ask by the ITV crew what they thought of Hamilton tho, if Hamilton impressed them, if Hamiltons first corner move was the best thing since sliced bread etc etc ;) .

But apart from the interest of the first race to see how people would go in their new teams etc it was as dull as ever. I will continue to watch but it excites me about as much as Coronation Street or Emerdale at the moment. Having got into MotoGP over the last 3 years there is simply no contest in terms of enjoyment.... that is a race week in week out!

Lol, well said :D (I watch MotoGP too!) F1 has the edge for me, it's not just about the overtaking but all the other stuff too, tyres, techy stuff, strategy, personalities etc etc. I find it a thoroughly enjoyable way to pass a couple of hours

I recon he is getting a bit frustrated with being the old boy who has lost the edge

:) Well said Sal

F1 is a marathon not a sprint. It's like GT / Endurance racing. If you watch it expecting a round of the BTCC then you'll be disappointed. Dig a little deeper and you find there is more to the sport. It's terribly geeky I know, but its really useful to watch the F1 website display during the race - then you see the data that the commentators have and it becomes a lot easier to work who is doing what. Well that's my excuse anyway!

For the record I love MotoGP too and BSB. I was at Brands Hatch last week watching the British Motorcycle Club meet, which was excellent - but F1 still has that extra something that makes me want to get up at some ungodly hour and watch the race live.

I have my laptop on my lap with the live data on it too during the race, it really does add another dimension to it all :thumb: It also means you can ignore all the duff info that James 'I'm turning into Murray Walker as far as mistakes go but without the nice comedy factor' Allen gives out :D

I watched it live. Not the same without MSC but still love the sport :thumb:

Got back from Melbourne at 04.50 yesterday (friday) morning, although Virgin Atlantic though it appropriate to leave my luggage in HK.

Will post some pics when I'm on UK time (currently wide awakr at 05.14 and haven't slept for a few days, so things are going a bit wierd...) although most of them are of pole dancers to be honest.....
