Seems to be a little slow loading the main images, that's on a leased line here in the office.

hmm, it preloads them, so i'll have to increase the compression

cheers

Simpleviewer gallery works well though, very easy to use isn't it.

indeed, it's very simple to use and quite effective too.

Just a shame it's flash :(

Oh I do like that a lot (even if it is Flash Iain :)). I think I might just have found the right (*quick and easy*) tool to put my site back online. Thanks for this ChefDude :thumb:

easiest way I found was to download the Picasa plug in which generates all the thumbnails and resizes the master to a webfriendly size, as well as an HTML file.

You could easily knock up an alternative HTML view using the thumbnails for those who dislike flash.

i've reduced the image sizes and all of them now only occupy 933Kb.

having so few objects on the screen so as not to detract from the images' impact is very neat, imho.

Finally got off my backside and used Simpleviewer to put up a wee gallery of images -- you'll have seen quite a few of them as I've posted them here before but I quite like the way Simpleviewer was so easy and quick to get sorted! Photography by Alwyn Greer (http://www.alwyngreer.com) (told you I kept it simple!)

worth noting that not everyone can get Flash - we use thin clients here, so can't install plugins. Just limts your audience a bit

STI's looks good though - some great shots in there

A surprising number of places are like that. Flash is even forbidden in my mums school (because of the perceived security risks).

Could you install something like simplephotos as well, and just have a "click here if you don't have / can't see flash"?

Very good, will have to try it.

Hmmm Doesn't appear to work with Flash 6 (Had to uninstall 9 and put Flash 6 back on due to current work project.)

It seems to detect that I have Flash Player tho (but not that it's too old a version).

Must get round to putting a gallery together sometime soon, too.

I have used a bit of javascript that I found on the net to launch thumbnails on this site I did..
