R.B 07 March 2007, 20:21 Lewis Hamilton all the way for me ive been watching this man since he was in go-karts. Edited because of the eggshell world we live in. stiggy 07 March 2007, 21:18 you know what they say about people that watch little boys! Jonnip74 09 March 2007, 14:11 If Jenson moves away from Honda, I think he's got the ability, but as always with F1 you need the car underneath you. It's no longer a sport about the drivers ability, but more to do with the technoloy (and money) that is under the covers of the car! But then does McLaren still have what it takes? They seem to have been on a downward spiral for the last few seasons, really since Newey left... perhps this year may be an improvement, but I think Ferrari are going to take it this year... Fingers crossed it's massa not Mr "No Personality" Raikonnen.... Tidgy 09 March 2007, 14:20 honda is no way strong enought o give button a car capable of winning the championship. if he goes elsewhere then yes he can, if he stays, then no he can't WRXshaneWRX 09 March 2007, 15:33 WHO CARES LOL....COME ON ALONSO, BUT KIMI WILL RULE THIS SEASON U WATCH R.B 10 March 2007, 13:58 Massa will be the quickest ferrari, kimi is over rated if you ask me. Ferrari will be the strongest but i think renault and mclaren will be close behind. R.B RRH 11 March 2007, 12:20 Yep, Massa my favourite for Melbourne- and its ok to support Ferrari now the German's gone. It will be interesting to see how Hamilton does though... and if such a young chap can cope with the pressure of driving for one of F1s top teams. I think we'll see good things from McLaren this year. Stevesbluewrx 16 March 2007, 18:54 Tricky one this. I really thought Button would have some more wins under his belt by now and for a Honda engine that is supposed to be one of the best I think last year showed that they didn't really know much about the v8 even though they have used them for years!! I think if Jenson moved back to Renault he could just have a chance. I would also like to see how he'd do in a Ferrari......you never know. As for Hamilton. If the lad keeps his head. And he takes a lot in in his first year in F1 i think we could have a future champ on our hands here. Ok he's won Euro F3 and the F2 title in the last two years but can he cut it with the high flying playboys and razz.......the answer is. YES. Steve Mr Scoob 17 March 2007, 22:44 Surprised that JB got any votes in this poll. IMO he has no chance of winning the championship.:wonder: LH is definitely a future world champion.:) COLZO 17 March 2007, 23:05 If Maclaren are reliable this season Alonso & young Lewis will do well. I think Massa will give Kimi a good run for his money! pnbond007 18 March 2007, 17:43 Lewis Hamilton all the way for me ive been watching this man since he was a little boy in go-karts. Well with a need to change the above slightly, I have also followed his career since he was a little lad in karting. new he'd be along at some stage, with big Ron looking out for him. good luck to the guy, I think he's the UK's best chance of a decent future in F1, hope he keeps his what appears to be professional approach. Prasius 08 April 2007, 09:41 The lad delivered the goods again! I think he might even get his first win this season - which will be something to celebrate. Hamilton is in a totally different league to Button. richiewong 08 April 2007, 10:11 1st race finished 3rd 2nd race finished 2nd 3rd race finished :wonder: Thats jinxed him now:lol1: :D Prasius 08 April 2007, 10:15 The composure and way he dealt with the Ferraris in the first 12 laps or so was just stunning. My two F1 obsessed mates have predicted he'll win Monaco - and he must obviously have his mind set on Silverstone, but I guess an element of team orders will play into the British GP. pnbond007 08 April 2007, 10:15 Excellent race by Lewis, hope his luck continues..... Big Ron's happy again, now his team appear to be on top once more. Lewis Hamilton is the future for F1, hopefully bringing Britain back to the top once more. Button, well he's another Coulthard.......No disrespect to David, F1 has just moved on & the younger crew are taking over. Schumacher, I wouldn't be suprised to see him back making a few guest apearances for other Ferrari engine supported team's every1sgottablue1 08 April 2007, 10:24 Kimi did not look a happy bunny after the race! Milamber 08 April 2007, 10:42 Yeah Kimi was very unhappy indeed for some reason. Bonehead 08 April 2007, 10:56 What a performance from Hamilton. He made the more experienced guys look like newbies Superb! :D Prasius 08 April 2007, 12:15 Yeah Kimi was very unhappy indeed for some reason. No-one is ever happy when they get "pwned by a n00b" ;) :lol1: 51st state 08 April 2007, 15:03 the whole hamilton thing pi**es me right off:mad: its just a big PR show that has been all organised by bernie, to get plenty of press attention and sell F1 to a new audience, thats not what F1 is surposed tobe about, seems advertising and profit for F1 rules the rules, now, the best driver was made to retire last year, i think he could have won the championship but his car was set up wrong at times until he went on tv and announced his retirement, and ross braun left aswell because of the politics around shuy:mad: i think its all a bit of a charade and have lost interest:mad: button has done no good because he was also brought in to get british sponsorship, he's just an also ran, what about the tall english driver blitzed everybody in F3000, a couple years ago, bernie said "he's to tall forget him" and that was it for the poor guy, i think he was justin wilson,??? pnbond007 08 April 2007, 15:56 the whole hamilton thing pi**es me right off:mad: its just a big PR show that has been all organised by bernie, to get plenty of press attention and sell F1 to a new audience, thats not what F1 is surposed tobe about, seems advertising and profit for F1 rules the rules, now, the best driver was made to retire last year, i think he could have won the championship but his car was set up wrong at times until he went on tv and announced his retirement, and ross braun left aswell because of the politics around shuy:mad: i think its all a bit of a charade and have lost interest:mad: button has done no good because he was also brought in to get british sponsorship, he's just an also ran, what about the tall english driver blitzed everybody in F3000, a couple years ago, bernie said "he's to tall forget him" and that was it for the poor guy, i think he was justin wilson,??? Need to do your homework on Lewis I'm afraid, nothing to do with Bernie. And as for Button, no way should he have or be ready to win a title. Can't keep blaming the car set up, he's been around a while now & should have achieved already. Prasius 08 April 2007, 16:55 Yeah - Button simply isn't good enough (although deserves better than the POS car he has this season which isn't doing him any favours!!). Its no shame on him, look at how many drivers go through F1 and never win a title - the vast majority of them have to prove themselves in many different series before they get an F1 drive, and most of them don't make the grade in order to win an F1 title. Hamilton however - yes, he's got a good car, but he's an exceptional driver - you only have to have seen the last two races to see that. wrc350+ 08 April 2007, 17:26 got to be hamilton while button still at honda, why is honda always on the adverts, they are crap Robin Mullan 08 April 2007, 19:38 Cant understand why button finished last season fairly strongly and now has a s**t car.:wonder: They were supposed to have a championship challenging car. But god does that young Hamilton have a talent, world champion for me within 3 seasons i reckon.:D Knighty99 08 April 2007, 19:45 the whole hamilton thing pi**es me right off:mad: its just a big PR show that has been all organised by bernie, to get plenty of press attention and sell F1 to a new audience, thats not what F1 is surposed tobe about, seems advertising and profit for F1 rules the rules, now, the best driver was made to retire last year, i think he could have won the championship but his car was set up wrong at times until he went on tv and announced his retirement, and ross braun left aswell because of the politics around shuy:mad: i think its all a bit of a charade and have lost interest:mad: button has done no good because he was also brought in to get british sponsorship, he's just an also ran, what about the tall english driver blitzed everybody in F3000, a couple years ago, bernie said "he's to tall forget him" and that was it for the poor guy, i think he was justin wilson,??? :cuckoo: Two races and two podiums in his 1st season:wonder: says it all:thumb: From a fellow stevenage lad:D Hoppy 08 April 2007, 20:59 the whole hamilton thing pi**es me right off:mad: its just a big PR show that has been all organised by bernie, to get plenty of press attention and sell F1 to a new audience, thats not what F1 is surposed tobe about, seems advertising and profit for F1 rules the rules, now, the best driver was made to retire last year, i think he could have won the championship but his car was set up wrong at times until he went on tv and announced his retirement, and ross braun left aswell because of the politics around shuy:mad: i think its all a bit of a charade and have lost interest:mad: button has done no good because he was also brought in to get british sponsorship, he's just an also ran, what about the tall english driver blitzed everybody in F3000, a couple years ago, bernie said "he's to tall forget him" and that was it for the poor guy, i think he was justin wilson,??? "all organised by bernie, to get plenty of press attention and sell F1 to a new audience" Is press attention and a wider audience a bad thing then? "thats not what F1 is surposed tobe about" What is F1 supposed to be about, in your view? Are you seriously suggesting that Hamilton and Button are racing because of Bernie, and that Justin Wilson and M Schumacher are not, because of Bernie  He was tipping Gary Paffet for a seat last year. Are you very tall? Richard. Hoppy 08 April 2007, 21:08 Sorry, double post. 51st state 09 April 2007, 10:02 :cuckoo: Two races and two podiums in his 1st season:wonder: says it all:thumb: From a fellow stevenage lad:D :Whatever_ :Whatever_ :Whatever_ :Whatever_ do you remember back in 96 when villeneuve joined willaims and hill, which was the best car in F1 , he did exactly the same as hamilton and won the title the next season:rolleyes:  hamilton has been groomed from a very young age for this moment, the first in F1, ron dennis saw the PR opportunity, gets the team ott press coverage, sponsors know this and are knocking at the door, i bet a lot of teams have been looking for a "hamilton" its like a big cheque:mad: the drivers i feel sorry for are the ones with the talent who are brushed over to make way for this PR show:mad: 51st state 09 April 2007, 10:11 "all organised by bernie, to get plenty of press attention and sell F1 to a new audience" Is press attention and a wider audience a bad thing then? Are you very tall? Richard. the audience should be watching out of genuine interest, not sucked in by the PR show i ask you , what started F1 ????? F1 is about the best reaching the top, i think the last couple of years its lost that and become a big show and money making charade:mad: its should be about innovation and design, the best team, designers and drivers thats where come from, but it seems tobe a bit part now, if that means 1 team keep wining then tough the rest have to catch up, thats how it used to work, thats how we have got to the modern F1 car ecclestone has a lot to do with it , he owns F1 remember, and yes to your question:) pnbond007 09 April 2007, 10:28 :Whatever_ :Whatever_ :Whatever_ :Whatever_ ron dennis saw the PR opportunity, gets the team ott press coverage, sponsors know this and are knocking at the door Big Ron has been involved with Lewis for well over ten years & has been part of the guy's earlier success. One thing for sure, gone are the day's of total domination by one driver, it's gonna be a good season that's for sure.....providing the drivers drive correctly & avoid throwing their dolls out. I still maintain that Kimi is gonna fail to win a championship, however I will stand corrected. He hasn't the level of commitment required to be a champion, he's wasted a good Ferrari seat. Sooner or later Hamilton will be in a Ferrari...... |
