What is the best place to fit a CD Autochanger in a 5 door Impreza?

How's the bass in the 5 door?

I've just upgraded the head unit (Kenwood flip thing) and the door speakers. But there's not much bass from speakers that small. The multi changer (10 disc) fitted fine under the passenger seat with no modifications. They didn't fancy gettign a 12 disc in there!

Next move is a false boot floor for a sub and amp....£500!

I thought I would have no chance getting my Alpine 12-disk changer in, but pushing the passengers seat back allowed the changer to drop in the shallow under the seat.

The passenger seat goes forward enough to be parallel with my normal driver's seat position, but no further forward.

Most passengers in the back left don't even notice to comment.

This, the thatcham alarm, metro steering lock, removable head-unit panel, standard speaker grills and a completely empty boot give me a warm feeling when the car is somewhere cold and lonely!

I put mine in the spare wheel (in a 4dr MY00). Should be same for 5 door though.

There was a thread on CD changer fitment a while back in this section.

just fitted a pioneer 6 disc changer into the spare wheel well ontop of the spacesaver tyre using a piece of MDF and swapping the wingnut type bolt for a hex headed one (I carry around a 13mm spanner in case I need the spare.Fits great & is out of site but jumps like a good 'un at the moment because of that lovely hard suspension (oh the sacrifices we make for handling). Anybody got any ideas on some form of damping to cushion the blows.

I had the same problem, get your self some heavy duty stick on draught excluder, the stuff you put round windows and doors. About 1cm thick, all the way round the resting edge of the MDF, let it stic overnight with some weight on it.

Only jumps on severe bumps (and occasional mad driving )

I ought to cover mine with some material to give it that finishing touch, but really can't be arsed!

Thanks for the tip. Fitted the excluder today and have just been for a quick blast on the worse potholed roads I can find. Couldn't get it to jump once, so I'm well chuffed
