Just learnt of the death of one of the compiters on the Wyedean.

Official statement from the Organisers of the Wyedean Forest Rally
"During the running of the Wyedean Forest Rally in the Forest of Dean an incident has occurred which has resulted in the fatality of a competitor, no other persons were injured.
The emergency services were alerted immediately and the police have taken control of the incident,
No further details will be issued until next of kin have been informed."

As a fellow competitor in the BTRDA my thoughts go out to all concerned. Indeed it is a very sad day when this happens.

Terrible news.... I didnt make it to the event today, and in some ways, I'm glad. It always brings it home hard what a dangerous sport we're all involved in when these sorts of things happen...
Deepest sympathy to the family, friends and crew of car 119.

Also heard that Burton had a big off in Chepstow Park, trapping his son in the car for 15mins. They are both ok, more than can be said of the car, heard they snapped the rollcage and bukled codrivers seat.

Truely a sad day :(
I was going to watch this weekend but couldn't, glad I didn't go things like this upset me,
I just caught a bit of it on Central news. Driver was sadly killed and the Co Driver was unhurt.

i was at the wyedean,never been there before and what a shame about the driver of car 119(in the official programme is an empty space)but i do believe he is from penkridge which isnt far from me.
