I was a good boy last year and Santa brought me an Interfit Studio lighting starter kit. I'd like to fire it wirelessly. I've seen cheap ones on Ebay which I understand Paul at Ariane uses. Any recommendations?

Would I need one or two? My kit contains 2 flash heads, 150W I think, 1 softbox and one brolly.

You only need One!

The cheap ones paul uses are Radio wave flash triggers and you will need a reciever to fit to one of the flashes if you going to use this type.

Your flashes should/will have a slave which will pick up IR, So all you need is an IR flash trigger.
You only need one as only one flash head needs to pick up the signal and the light from this flash will trigger the other one.

You can get an IR flash trigger for under £30 of a well known auction site :thumb:

Thanks. Yes, they have an optical cell and will trigger from my on-board flash.

What about flash meter? Trial and Error or invest in something?

Does that well known auction site sell models willing to pose?

I personally dont use a light meter. Just used trial & error until I got to know the equipment and now Im usually right or very near on the first shot.

That well known auction site is unlikely to sell Models for posing but I know one that does. :D

I've just put an add on the work's intranet for models, and had quite a few replies. Also had 100+ hits on my website, which is a bonus!

I use 1 trigger now for 4 lights, it was a cheap radio trigger like the one Paul uses, for <£10 on Ebay.
