any ideas to what your car weighs in at, plus what turbo are you now running
Neilo 10 January 2007, 23:55 honest answer, is.....
dont know, and dont know! :D
id guestimate the cars weight in "reduced trim" to be around 1320kg or so without driver. The turbo is a bit of a surprise, as i dont know exactly what the spec is.
Gearbox is stock though ;)

Ok mate, just went to donno and knackered 5th gear, trouble as you no, more bhp more breakages
Neilo 11 January 2007, 10:26 in what car though? knackered 5th? in a 5 or 6 speed?
evo north 11 January 2007, 17:04 in what car though? knackered 5th? in a 5 or 6 speed?
it knackered 5th in a 5 speed mate, far to aggressive with the gear changes, following faster cars around is never a good idea
Neilo 11 January 2007, 17:23 you must have been going some to break 5th!!! What evo do you drive? 6? and at what power?

Its an evo 8 260 running at 390 bhp, carbon prop, bb turbo, autronics, 3'' exhaust, plus alot more bits, its going in for a forged botton end very soon, then on to a big turbo, fuel system etc,,,,
mickywrx 11 January 2007, 21:57 Not wanting to hi-jack the thread. But can any subaru owner enter the Scooby ShootOut?
I probably don't have the ability or mods to do too well on the handling circuit, and definately not the power to compete with the likes of AndyF* on the drag strip, but I wouldn't mind having a go.
Micky.
* Read as most cars attending ;) Just used Andy as an example :)
Neilo 11 January 2007, 22:01 yes any subaru car......you dont need to compete with the big boys, you might surprise yourself anyway round the handling :D
mickywrx 11 January 2007, 22:05 How surprise myself, being worse than I think I am ;):lol1:

I competed for the first time at SSO 06 (never competed before in any form of driving competition) with a moderate modded car and came 14th in the handling circuit. Not as good in the drag (1 attempt) as Bob Rawle's car unfortunatley came off the runway in terrible weather conditions and the drag racing was cancelled.
Andy
Neilo 12 January 2007, 12:23 Andy,
Same here, first time out and managed to get the fastest handling time of the day and finish 2nd in the shootout, not bad for a meagre 330bhp newage on standard suspension.....
So what i mean is, have a go and you might surprise yourself!!!

nik52wrx 20 January 2007, 21:49 I went to the Elvington Shootout last year and enjoyed it with the exception of the weather.
Is it held there every year ?
Nik.
chrisT.O.T.B. 20 January 2007, 23:51 it's been held there each year so far. Last years weather was appalling for the time of year so fingers crossed for this time around!:)

Good lad, have a go, you don't need big power or any fancy gadgets for the handling, just plant your foot and hang on. Works for me:lol1:
Had a few (quite a lot) goes down the drag strip which was pretty scary braking in standing water with no ABS:eek2:
I know someone fell off:( not nice:cry:
