incidentally your time at TOTB, 42.36 vs mine of 40.96, 1.4 secs difference, i agree, not bad, so why werent you closer at silverstone where your car was even better suited then ;)

i never hit any cones, did nearly hit a mondeo though.....that was some good reversing!

i think we should have a figure of eight around the airfield runways :thumb: don't ask me what happens to the drag though :D

I just get lost in the sea of cones, it would be nice if the airfield would let them paint some white or yellow boundry lines down in that dissolveable paint that they use for marking out road works etc, im sure it would wear off fairly quickly with the Northern weather up there ;)

agree the figure of 8 cone setup does make it look like a see of cones and blinding, however a better setup, and longer, doesnt give you cone blindness (they only have so many cones you know :D)

Exactly, im sure i went and moaned last year that there was a cone in the middle of the course but on reflection it was probably just the apex of the corner, its just i couldn't see it until i was heading straight for it!

Even if the whole course was not marked on the floor, just some apex markings in white and red like on a proper circuit would make all the difference IMHO.

As all you really need is the next corner to aim at, as the bits inbetween should be blurry :D

One of the arguments is the 1st lap is your sighting lap. In reality you should be using this lap to it's best effect as this does not count as one of your timed laps.... i.e. You dont have to go full knacker on this lap, as the idea is to learn the circuit.

Of course the circuit is not like the Nurburgring, so it shouldnt be too much to take in. :D

I will discuss with Chris though, but as you may appreciate we have certain limitations. :)

i think we understand there has to be some amount of cones, otherwise you'd have people cutting corners left, right and centre :D

of course, knowing where the track went wouldn't be a problem if i could get my full quota of 5 laps in, but i only seem to manage 2 before i've ran out of time :mad::D

silly question but could there not simply be a whiteboard with the course drawn on it to a decent scale? just a simple circuit map? might help....and cost bugger all.

think you'll find the rain will wash the ink off ;) but would be useful to look at while you queue



oh, and some way of checking lap times might be good :D
