P20SPD 06 January 2007, 22:06 How do you figure that? incidentally your time at TOTB, 42.36 vs mine of 40.96, 1.4 secs difference, i agree, not bad, so why werent you closer at silverstone where your car was even better suited then ;) Because he was scared :D immprezz'd 06 January 2007, 22:13 cant wait for this event well enjoyed it last year, so much so i went out and bought an impreza which i have now spent in excess of £4 on............... missus not too happy...lol know exactly where you are coming from m8!:lol1: flat4 06 January 2007, 22:52 well i'd like to say that i reckon i'll do well at SSO but i hate the surface, the track layout and i have a distinct dislike of cones :lol1: terryb 06 January 2007, 23:13 Terry, I think you would of eaten some major dosings of humble pie, had I been allowed to take part in the Final at Donnington. :D Yeah, yeah - well you haven't proved anything with your own driving skills to date - so let's see what you can do this year :D:D:D ex-webby 07 January 2007, 05:45 Because he was scared :D I've been busted, but I did manage to overcome a fair bit of the "lack of confidence" thing at Snetterton..... so who knows! :D Terryb, You're a seasoned track day god..... so you better make sure I don't come anywhere near you, let alone actually beat you.......... how would you be able to live that down?! ;) :D terryb 07 January 2007, 12:28 Terryb, You're a seasoned track day god..... so you better make sure I don't come anywhere near you, let alone actually beat you.......... how would you be able to live that down?! ;) :D Well I have nothing to worry about then ;):D:D:D Danny Boy 07 January 2007, 12:33 flat4 well i'd like to say that i reckon i'll do well at SSO but i hate the surface, the track layout and i have a distinct dislike of cones Mee too, i hate cones! As long as i beat Felly again i'll be happy ;) :D ex-webby 07 January 2007, 13:06 Danny Boy, If you do beat Felly again, he will only say it was because of his clutch though! :D :D flat4 07 January 2007, 14:15 that's 2 people against the use of cones, can we start a pertition? :D ex-webby 07 January 2007, 14:22 I never hit one cone at TOTB...... was that because I was driving miss daisy then? :D :D Neilo 07 January 2007, 14:35 i never hit any cones, did nearly hit a mondeo though.....that was some good reversing! flat4 07 January 2007, 22:56 i think we should have a figure of eight around the airfield runways :thumb: don't ask me what happens to the drag though :D Danny Boy 08 January 2007, 12:09 I just get lost in the sea of cones, it would be nice if the airfield would let them paint some white or yellow boundry lines down in that dissolveable paint that they use for marking out road works etc, im sure it would wear off fairly quickly with the Northern weather up there ;) flat4 08 January 2007, 12:15 good idea :thumb: there's no way you can pick a line through the course when you can't see the apex until you're on it  Neilo 08 January 2007, 12:21 i agree, maybe a combination of both would be the best plan if at all possible....a few cones just to show the boundaries. flat4 08 January 2007, 12:26 would save time when the marshalls have to go and replace the whole cross over section which some fool wiped out :o:D P20SPD 08 January 2007, 12:28 agree the figure of 8 cone setup does make it look like a see of cones and blinding, however a better setup, and longer, doesnt give you cone blindness (they only have so many cones you know :D) Something like they had at TOTB2 or 3 would be good IMO. P20SPD 08 January 2007, 12:29 would save time when the marshalls have to go and replace the whole cross over section which some fool wiped out :o:D You and paul both have 1st corner nerves :D flat4 08 January 2007, 12:37 :lol1: Danny Boy 08 January 2007, 12:44 there's no way you can pick a line through the course when you can't see the apex until you're on it Exactly, im sure i went and moaned last year that there was a cone in the middle of the course but on reflection it was probably just the apex of the corner, its just i couldn't see it until i was heading straight for it! Even if the whole course was not marked on the floor, just some apex markings in white and red like on a proper circuit would make all the difference IMHO. As all you really need is the next corner to aim at, as the bits inbetween should be blurry :D ex-webby 08 January 2007, 19:43 One of the arguments is the 1st lap is your sighting lap. In reality you should be using this lap to it's best effect as this does not count as one of your timed laps.... i.e. You dont have to go full knacker on this lap, as the idea is to learn the circuit. Of course the circuit is not like the Nurburgring, so it shouldnt be too much to take in. :D I will discuss with Chris though, but as you may appreciate we have certain limitations. :) flat4 08 January 2007, 21:01 i think we understand there has to be some amount of cones, otherwise you'd have people cutting corners left, right and centre :D of course, knowing where the track went wouldn't be a problem if i could get my full quota of 5 laps in, but i only seem to manage 2 before i've ran out of time :D Neilo 08 January 2007, 21:05 silly question but could there not simply be a whiteboard with the course drawn on it to a decent scale? just a simple circuit map? might help....and cost bugger all. flat4 08 January 2007, 21:25 think you'll find the rain will wash the ink off ;) but would be useful to look at while you queue oh, and some way of checking lap times might be good :D Neilo 08 January 2007, 21:40 agreed, i had to go to the caravan to find out i was winning ;) what a chore! ex-webby 08 January 2007, 21:48 Presentation of times is something that is under discussion. :) evo north 08 January 2007, 21:48 If like most years and the event does not get full, can i put my name down and pay , just to compete, please paul Neilo 10 January 2007, 16:33 nah, bar that man!!! ex-webby 10 January 2007, 18:28 Evo North, We will see how the numbers go as priority will be given to Subaru owners as normal. We will release all details regarding this when we launch. |
