we have a concept 500 car alarm.... it was already on the car when we bought it .. its been working perfect till today .. we went out to the car pressed the fob to unlock the car and it did nothing .. we kept pressing the fob for 20 mins then it suddenly started to work again .. its worked all day until just now again we pressed the fob to unlock the car and again nothing ... then it decided to work again ... we have put new batteries in the fob today incase it was that but it is still being awkward to us ...


can anyone help us with any ideas as to what could be wrong .. we carnt do anything with the car until it decides to work :wonder:

I have this sometimes with my car - but it only happens if i park in certain areas (like near a 'mobile phone transmitter') - and if i put the fob right up against the alarm aerial (on the windscreen in my car) it works.
May not be your solution, but worht a try

it could be that ur fob is on the way out. The buttons may have got worn out.

check to see if the battery contacts have not come loose on the fobs,its poss that the areil is going faulty esp if it is the thin strip type.if the fob is ok its poss it could be the area your in they did have a problem with some telephone masts:wonder: but if all is ok prob a new areil

its real strange because since doing this post the alarm has been working perfectly again ...

hope it continues to be okay because it was a ball ache when it was playing up ...
