View Full Version : January Transfer Window
G-STAR 21 December 2006, 19:18 With January drawing closer, it's time for a little transfer speculation again boys and girls.
Who's going where?
Will Chelsea send Shevchenko back to Milan and move for David Villa?
Will Owen Hargreaves finally get his dream move to the Premiership leaders?
What do we think? :wonder:
pauly 21 December 2006, 19:23 somebody over here has to buy torres.....
better get in quick though or else he'll be off to milan
are athletico in any european competition?
be even more interesting if he's not cup tied
beckham to bolton:lol1: :lol1: :lol1:
had to laugh when i saw that 1 last week
G-STAR 21 December 2006, 19:31 I was convinced United would get Torres during the summer, but I'm not so sure about a January move, especially considering most of the speculation has died down following Larsson's arrival. Besides, he's not been playing that well over in Spain.
Atletico haven't played in Europe, so he isn't cup tied, but I don't think he's interested in a move to Chelsea either. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Oh, and the Beckham thing is ludicrous. :D
16vmarc 21 December 2006, 20:44 I've heard a rumour that Benitez is going to be going for Hargreaves...
LUCKO 21 December 2006, 21:31 will Chelsea send Shevchenko back to Milan and move for David Villa?
never going to happen, Villa will go to Barcelona in the summer and Shevchenko cannot go back to Milan after what has been said by the Milan owner.
why get rid of Shevchenko anyway, its not as if Chelsea have plenty of other strikers to choose from. should of kept Crespo, done nothing but score since he left
G-STAR 21 December 2006, 21:55 To be fair, I missed what Berlusconi said regarding Shevchenko's move to Chelsea. I tend not to go hunting for Chelsea stories. ;)
It wouldn't surprise me if they did try and get rid, purely because he hasn't been an instant hit. It's not like money means anything to them.
Not too sure on the Crespo comment. If they sent Sheva back to Italy, I think he'd bang in a fair few, much more suited to the style of play over there.

:wonder: We dont want him ;)

You're as bad as your chubby faced assitant!
Manchester United have done well this season; we have done very well. That is why we are both clear at the top of the table.
So, we've just done well - yet leading the race and through to the last 16 of the CL - while you've done very well?
Granted you're only two points behind us, but you've got a bottomless pit of dirty money to play with and are not racing away with it like previous years...and that's with Ballack, Cole, Boulahrouz, Mikel, Kalou and Shevchenko!
:cuckoo:

If you ignore the gloomy figures (i.e. level of debt), the prospect of having £25m set aside for a 'superstar' is fairly mouthwatering.
Watching Torres last night against Barca, he looked largely uninterested. He's either fed up at Atletico and ready for a change, or suffering from a lack of confidence in his ability.
I'm hoping it's the first. ;)

I think you'll agree that none of the above, apart from Cole now, have perfomed to the best of their ability.
So being only two points behind considering you have been playing out of you skin is not too bad.
Looking forward to your "blip" though :thumb:, you know, the one that Ferguson has been expecting us to do for the last few seasons :lol1:

According to Sir Alex, nothing has changed with the transfer policy. If he wants someone, he'll be given the cash to splash. I don't think it's that simple at the moment. :Whatever_
All above board though, unlike yours. :nono:
Hargreaves for £12m? Yes please. :D

What are you getting for Xmas G-STIR?, more sad excuses for not winning the Premiership :D
G-STAR 24 December 2006, 12:40 If there was any dodgy money he would of been found out by now :Whatever_.
I doubt there's anyone willing to investigate Russia's corrupt government. We all know what happened to Mr. Litvinenko.
Mr. Abramovich made his billions in an unethical, illegal manner - even you know that.

On the contrary - party hats, streamers and champagne ready for the big day. :D
What's on your list to Santa?

 By buying shares in Aeroflot when they were low and selling when they went sky high?
And investing heavily in Sibneft Oil, of which he was the owner, very dodgy money in oil :Whatever_.
No doubt you have the true reasons how he made his money.
At least he is a very rich man investing in a footbal club, as apposed to a very poor one buying one to pay off his debts ;)

Thought the teenagers of today were all wanting X box's :D
sherlock 24 December 2006, 13:52 Seems his money is running out :D Chelsea to spend less! (http://www.ireland.com/newspaper/breaking/2006/1224/breaking12.htm)
Do you think a salary cap should be introduced? Like rugby league? Just interested in your thoughts.

No doubt you have the true reasons how he made his money.
Gazprom Neft (Russian: Газпром нефть), until 2005 called Sibneft (Russian: Сибнефть), is Russia's fifth largest oil producing and refining company. It was created by presidential decree in 1995 and privatized through a series of auctions in the subsequent two years.
Roman Abramovich and Boris Berezovsky acquired shares in Sibneft by bidding in the auctions through several front companies that they set up for the purpose. These transactions, widely denounced as unethical or illegal, were approved by Boris Yeltsin who had good relations with Berezovsky and Abramovich at that time. According to General Alexander Korzhakov, former chief of Yeltsin's security service, Abramovich manages finances for Yeltsin and his family.
According to David Satter, author of Darkness at Dawn, "what drove the process was not the determination to create a system based on universal values but rather the will to introduce a system of private ownership, which, in the absence of law, opened the way for the criminal pursuit of money and power."
That guides my interpretation.
Thought the teenagers of today were all wanting X box's :D
Maybe they do, but I'm a big boy now. ;)
Let me guess - your presents will entail a pipe, slippers, crossword book and, if you've been good, a new colostomy bag? :D

Moley_WRX 28 December 2006, 21:26 So basically you have 3 good right backs already, then another very good one turns up, and you decide to buy him now just incase Utd or Arsenal try to get him in the summer.
And who said you can't buy a title??? ;) :D
And has anyone else noticed how the Chelsea fans are moaning all the time about injuries..... which is what they accused Utd fans of doing last year!!!
