View Full Version : Grizdale Stages!
LEE P 29 November 2001, 09:57 Hi all its that time again for Grizdale which is on this saturday, im only doing the saturday as i wont be able to make it up to the Ayrshire stages.
first stage is 9.43am so it would be a early start for you 555 BOY if you been "oot on the lash!" two stages should be easily done. my cousin is navigating again and they managed to swing a EVO 6 so they should do pretty well after 8th on the Malcom Wilson.
Anyway 555 if you can make it give me a bell! im working first thing but ill be at stage 1, tell mark to blow his nose before he sets off!:D:D:D
SPEN555 29 November 2001, 10:44 Hi Lee,
I think I will be going. Tonight I'm calling at a M8's house who knows Grizedale inside out and he is going to give me a map and tell me where to go for the best viewing.
Damian.
NeilS 29 November 2001, 11:10 Hi Lee
Have you any more information on stage times, route etc, is there a web site? I'm up in Yorkshire this weekend and may go and have a look. I haven't been to Grizedale for years, not since the good old days of the RAC Rally.
Neil.

tonka 29 November 2001, 17:39 IF YOU SNEEK A LOOK IN MOTORSPORT NEWS THERE IS A MAP OF THE STAGES.
555 BOY 29 November 2001, 20:08 Tawreet Fettlers,
Yeah I should be up for it now that I've 1/2 recovered from my RAC induced cold :(,As for the "ooot on't Lash" comment..........Do Bears 5hit in the woods :D:D:D:D:D
Which car park are you after doing Lee ? Or should we just leave it to Damian to sort out.We did car Park A (High Cross) on the Malcolm Wilson Rally so I don't know if you fancy trying a different one.
Damian, have a look on your maps for a "Crossroads" type junction,I get the feeling that its really two hairpins back to back,on another rallying website people comment on what a good spec it is but I don't know where.
CYA Saturday,
555
p.s Mark has swopped his Saturday off with someone else at work so................I'll take some special "Scoobynet" Mansize tissues around to him now :D:D:D:D

LEE P 29 November 2001, 20:43 Hello My old muckers! stages 1 and 5 9.43, 13.16,
2 and 6 are 10.06, 13.39.
car park B looks quite good? near some twisty stuff, been talking with my cousin today and the run up to the end is quite good and very fast. (car park c) ive got private parking to a good veiw point at a distant relations farm, not sure if they would let a load of scoobs in though? ill ask and see. if we are all going te a mutual car park would be good. you got that dump valve fitted yet SPEN? Tim dont forget ya "scoobynet" tyre grease for some super sliding action! :D :D see ya all there.
Cheers Lee.
555 BOY 29 November 2001, 20:52 Hmmmmmmmm MUPPET,MUPPET..............YOUR A SCOOBYNET MUPPET BOYO !
Yeah I'm easy,B or C is closer to the M6 anyway = less of an early start :D:D:D
Yeah I'll bring along the "Grease" maybe if I see the relevant authorities then Scoobynet could be interested in "Promoting" it along with the growbags :D:D:D

SPEN555 29 November 2001, 23:17 O.K.
I've got the map from my m8. I think he goes to the spots where they are most likely to crash from the photos he showed me! LOL. Maybe we can get a few scoob spoilers if there is?
He has suggested that we go to car park B (High Barn). The point of spectating is a good 25 minutes walk from car park B but is meant to be good. Stage 2 of Grizedale North starts at 10:06am and so I think we should aim to be there for 09:30am.
Tim I will be setting off around 07:30am.
Lee what you on about a dump valve? I had a dump earlier today but thats about it. I've got some nice gauges to show you thou.
Damian.
LEE P 30 November 2001, 01:28 LOL damion! thats whsat i meant! te dump valve in your ar5e! Tim told me you were fitting a dump valve? maybe he meant gauges! il av a look at the gauges anyway!
Car park B is fine with me! i can be there at 9.30 no probs!
are you staying for the duration damien? as it runs that stage again at 13.39? im up for it! my cousin has been testing the evo 6 in wales and reckons they have a good chance of winning it steve head last years winner is not competing despite what motoring news says.
There is a good line up of cars, so it should be a great rally! cant see tim making it for 9.30am if he has been ont tap the night before! LOL topping up that log Book! :D:D:D
SPEN555 30 November 2001, 10:12 I will be up for the afternoon stage as well. I'm not travelling all that way just to see one stage and there is no England match on this time.
My m8 has a picture of an Evo4/5/6 on its roof down a ditch where we are going watch! LOL. This was taken at this same rally in previous years.
Damian.
Blackscooby 30 November 2001, 11:31 Good luck to Alex Taylor (aka AJ Motorsport) in car 103 Blue Impreza.

Tim/Damien was talking to my cousin tonight and they had a cracking result!!! first time out in the evo 6 and cam 2nd! overall! what a great finish out of 126 cars, there was plenty of scoobs/mitsibishis.

Blackscooby 04 December 2001, 11:13 Just heard that the AJ Motorsport car came 24th overall. None to shabby really... This was despite a roll and running without any glass !!!!
oh and a minor engine fire ~ caused by the roll !
Well done to the guys in the Evo6 :D :D
Blackscooby 04 December 2001, 11:17 Just found a photo post roll.

SPEN555 04 December 2001, 13:40 Lee,
What do you mean roll on the next one?
Your getting as bad as Ted wanting to see a good crash!
p.s.Cleaned the car on Sunday. Sh#*te@#*d up to the eyeballs seems appropriate.
Damian.
Blackscooby 04 December 2001, 14:51 Lee P,
Alex said that it was bloody cold, but the worst part was going throught a hailstorm. Co-driver had an open faced helmet  and hailstones at 80MPH+ hurt like f*ck apparently !
The co-driver's face was red raw by the finish !
LEE P 06 December 2001, 22:34 Hiya black scoob! cold as fcuk wold be a understatment! :D
cant beat the weathered look!
when are they next competeing AJ that is?
wwe were wondering when it went passed if it was going to be a re-shell or just chop the roof off and mig a new one on?
was chatting to my neighbour who was also navigating in Mk2 escort with a 1300cc suzuki swift 16v engine and box in it!!!
They came 1st in class and 31st overall, 6 minutes off third place! spennt most of their time sideways apparently! :D
what a laugh that must ff been!
Spen i still havent washed my car yet! looked quite good at first but i think the neighbours think im a rally muppet with sh1te up the sides! Ted is a ambulance chaser man! i like fast tidy rallying, ted likes em to climb trees!
has any of his pics come out? :D
cheers Lee
off to clean car! :D
SPEN555 06 December 2001, 22:40 Lee,
He sent me some of the pictures of my gauges and headed it 'Sh@*e Pictures' and they were of poor quality. So I think they didn't come out to well.
Damian.
