Mind you he used to be a marine engineer and take ships engines to pieces ... (never did find out whether they actually worked afterwards ... ) :D :D Seriously, from memory it's just a couple of pipes and bolts. Though you have to get at it - this'll depend on your machine. The old man's was a Zanussi and you just tipped it onto it's side to get underneath. Mind the water though .... Dave BlkKnight 13 December 2006, 16:30 Doesn't sound too hard. I'll give it a shot. I'd have to pay the call out fee anyway. . . . alcazar 13 December 2006, 21:05 On mine, you need Mole-type grips, as the pipe clips are the sprung-on type.... Alcazar 47 NAT 14 December 2006, 13:08 Its a really easy job or at least it was on my Hotpoint  All I had to do was undo 2 screws holding it to the base of the unit and unclip 3 spring clips with mole grips, undo the plug then pop it off and the reversal for fitting. While your at it and you've got the top off, you might as well replace the brushes in the motor as well as they dont last forever and only cost a few quid to replace :thumb: I found these guys were very good on price and speedy delivery eBay Seller: lakeside electricals: Major Appliances, DVDs items on eBay.co.uk (http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZlakeside_electricalsQQhtZ-1) Prices vary a lot and Ebay worked out the best by far  and to my surprise this site has been worth its weight in gold Washing machine pumps (http://www.washerhelp.co.uk/washing-machine-parts/pumps.html#cl_q6) Hope that helps..... |
