Rob WRX265 09 December 2006, 21:21 15 views no coments? Ok maybe no body has bought one yet? Will have to buy one and find out myself. Rob :wonder: ticky 09 December 2006, 21:40 The only thing I would say is that its really difficult to read the gauge in daylight. This was after fitting one of those similar type gauges for a friend. mickywrx 09 December 2006, 22:35 Got the same gauges fitted in my car. No problems seeing them in daylight for me. :wonder: Personally, I wouldn't bother with just boost though, I've got oil temp and pressure also in a 3 gauge A-pillar pod. WRX265 10 December 2006, 13:12 Thanks for your comments guys Rob :thumb: stevebennett 26 December 2006, 17:08 Got the same gauges fitted in my car. Have you got any pics of this?? and what did you do about the alarm sensor. Steve Tissy 27 December 2006, 21:11 Steve - Theres pictures of the pod i have fitted on the 'A' pillar on my web site. This housing replaces the existing 'A' pillar trim so you can reposition the alarm sensor. They look very good indeed. mickywrx 28 December 2006, 11:29 Not the best pics, I'll get some better ones taken if you need some: http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i71/mickywrx/2006_1228stuff0022.jpg http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i71/mickywrx/2006_1228stuff0021.jpg moneys 31 December 2006, 14:35 :lol1: mickywrx 01 January 2007, 20:50 :lol1: :wonder: :wonder: What's so funny? WRX265 21 January 2007, 14:01 Been a while since I posted on this topic. I have finaly bought this kit and the pod fits very well to the pillar. Looks great but gauge is not very clear in daylight because of the smoked glass. Looks ok when the backlight is on. I posted on the lighting and wiring forum because I was not sure on the electrical connection. Used a feed from the headlight height adjustment switch. This switch is very easy to remove. Pulled the plug connector from the back of the switch and checked for live feed with my test meter. Purple wire is the switch backlight power, Black is the negative wire. Spliced into these and the Boost gauge backlight works with the side lights. I may change to an ignition live so that the Gauge is backlit all the time, to make it easier to see in daylight. Hope this of help to others? Rob :luxhello: pauld37 21 January 2007, 14:37 Rob, with them wired into the radio, as in your other thread, the backlight will come on when you turn the ignition :) WRX265 21 January 2007, 15:17 Paul, Thanks for that. I think it's easier to wire to the switch than the radio? But I will take a look at the radio option and see how hard or not it is to connect? Rob gartracnick 21 January 2007, 17:23 got this pod and guage, if u wire it into the interior light u can use the switch to turn it on and off as u like, this is wot i done. all i did is remove the lamp then wrap the wirearoud the terminals then run the wire behind the blind and down the a piller behind the trim. silent running 21 January 2007, 22:48 Pod looks good, the gauge looks a bit out of place, but each to their own. WRX Blues 22 January 2007, 14:41 What have I done wrong? I have got this kit fitted (local garage did the fitting). Gauge lights all the time and looks fine - problem is that when ending is off the gauge does not zero. It is .2bar below zero. When engine is started the gauge reads -.4bar?!? On full boost the gauge clatters (quite literally as the needle seems to vibrate massivelty) to maybe .6 or .7 bar. Car is standard UK Turbo 2000 (MY2000). Any ideas - have they cocked the fitting up? WRX265 22 January 2007, 19:43 WRX Blues, Test drove my car today with New Gauge and pod as my last post. Gauge chatters at medium to high boost. This is between 1 and 1.5Bar on my 04 WRX. My car has been remapped [265Bhp] The idle boost is about -0.6Bar. This negative figure is correct as when the throttle is closed a vacuum is present in the inlet. Rob WRX265 24 January 2007, 18:06 Changed the connection point for the Boost gauge today, from the manifold to the pipe going into the dump valve. The Gauge is working alot smoother and has lost that chatter at high boosts. Seems the pressure is more constant at this point than at the manifold. :thumb: Rob milf hunter 28 January 2007, 16:14 had same problem as this, done the same mod and all works ok:thumb: |
