skyblueracer 26 November 2006, 20:04 Hi Tez.
Looks like we may be following each other around apart from Cardiff on Thurseday. I'm hopeing to get to the quarry at Halfway this year seeking some shelter, it's so open at the main Dixies area of the stage and if it's peeing down it's a right pain in the back side, though no trouble parking there.
Not going to the superspecial either ,if i've paid for a world rally pass why should i pay extra for that.
Bye Chris
PS HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL AT THE SERVICE AREA FOR THE SHAKE DOWN IN 4 DAYS TIME
i am tez 26 November 2006, 20:10 im only going to cardiff for the atmosphere of the start, not actually going into the stadium as like you why do we have to pay extra this year?? ROBDOGS!! the quarry at halfway is great as you see them for a fair while.
i am actually in a peugeot 306 diesel(economy thinking) this year.it will have WRC stickers in the rear side windows and my 2 scooby spectator posters courtesy of Drew(thanks mate!)

Hi Paul,
Looks like you are going to be busy. Marshalls sometimes come in for (in 99% of cases) a lot of totally unnecessary stick during rally GB. I suppose some people don't realise that without the time you give up freely, the event wouldn't run and that when stages get cancelled, it isn't your fault. So, in advance, many thanks to you and all your colleagues (marshalls, radio cars, rescue and medical crews, etc.) for keeping the event running.
Hope you have a good, hassle free rally.
Andrew

Press are the worst :( Although I had a spectator ride a quad bike at me 2 years ago :o
*most* marshalls are just there to enjoy the rally and keep everyone safe. Our bunch are a really good group who marshall several rallys during the year and never really have any trouble from spectators :)
See you there maybe!
(Halfway Saturday, Trawscoed Sunday - couldn't get time off for Friday :( )
James Neill 01 December 2006, 20:23 The official guide you get with the tickets warns you not to drive between car parks. How is it that some of you plan on moving between stages? Are you taking the risk you can get there in time?
As you can guess I'm a newbie!
Nick McRae 04 December 2006, 21:58 Sopt on with the Marshalling I for one am having my training next year to become one!
Scudie 04 December 2006, 22:02 Me and my son too. we picked up the forms in service and will be in the post this week.
RallyMarshal 05 December 2006, 17:33 Well went to plan for me..
From my point of view, it was a fantastic but tiring event.
Tues night - Travelled down after work.
Wed - Went to Rally HQ to collect kit then onto Felindre to organise / marshal at scrutineering.
Thurs - Scrutineering from 7.00am till 2pm then Cardiff to help organise the event start from 4pm until 10.30pm
Fri - TC0 (first control of the event) at 7.00am then onto Rheola J20a + to see the marshals and get good feedback then onto Resolfen J15, J16 and J16+ to see marshals and help out a little. Stayed a while with Stuart Jones trying to get his car fixed.
Sat - Parc Ferme Out at 5.50am then onto Halfway J16 (I think) at the end of the tarmac road. Managed to speak to quite a few marshals there and get excellent feedback. Then onto Cardiff for 2pm and into ticket office from 3pm until 8pm allocating marshals tickets. Got into the Stadium at around 8pm to see some action. Had to get extra tickets as used the complete original allocation of 2 blocks for the marshals and their guests.
Sun - Parc Ferme out from 5.45am then onto Trawscoed J16 and J6 then onto Brechfa J6. Again managed to get good feedback. Travelled to Cardiff and to Post Event Scrutineering from 3pm until 8.30pm then back to the travelodge and onto the post event party in Cardiff until 3am!
Mon - Travel back, unpack and sleep last night.
Paul..
