View Full Version : Another Mapping group buy - Bob Rawle
pippyrips 24 November 2006, 15:50 I'm thinking of getting a group buy set-up with Bob Rawle so at the moment i'm just seeing what potential numbers are about.
6 cars are needed to recieve the discount and would be looking for this to happen around mid January somewhere around south wales.
Prices are as follows:
"if you have six minimum confirmed with deposits paid (not just maybe's) then yes I can do a group buy at £495 plus vat per car if ecu closed (no licence) or £295 if there is a car with the ecu open (already has a licence), required deposit £150."
Dependant on where the 6 people come from we can then arrange a central location for the mapping to make life easier
I'm sure you all know the reputation bob has so if you are interested in this can you add your name to the list

no extra charge? Thats fantastic... 3 ports are usually around £130!

no charge of installing, don't think he will throw the solenoid in for free!
If you already have one bring it and he will put it in, if not i'm sure he can supply one
pippyrips 26 November 2006, 22:28 Can he map the early ecus 2?? Iv got a my93 wrx
Bobs answer:
Hi, answer is no to that, in any case the early cars are very fragile, wouldn't recommend pushing a MY93 car at all.
MikeyTang 26 November 2006, 22:48 Bob should be able to supply the 3 port solenoids aswell.
Any chance you can ask him how much?
RLE 26 November 2006, 23:13 Sure he quoted me around 150.00 Mikey. He suggested I look for a second hand one on here and was fortunate to pick up a bargain @ £40.00 which Bob kindly fitted for free on the day of my map. He recommends (and supplies) genuine Subaru items

Answer:
I assume he means a three port? That would be £150 inc vat supplied, installed and plumbed up.

Remember Bob is one of the best mappers in the country, up you go!!
New_scooby_04 29 November 2006, 12:33 Just a comment from me lest it helps you get the required numbers.
Bob mapped my My99 back in July after having some mods fitted by APi. It now prouces 319bhp and 316ft lbs torque. It's also remarkably responsive, smooth and easy to drive and I'm sure that off boost fuel consumption has improved. Bob's also a very nice guy who has put up with lots of questions from moi!
If you're in the South, and want to get the car Tek3'd then he really is the man to see!
More details on my mods and mapping experience with Bob here, if anyone's interested.

just got to get the knocklink fitted (last weeks group buy).

Ray - i will check that a tek 1 open licence can be mapped stright away. The solenoid will be £150 fitted on top of the mapping charge:)
PPPRob 30 November 2006, 01:21 Thanks pippyrips, I'll also require an STi panel filter along with this.
Bob recommended one to me a while back if I have this done - just thought I'd mention it to remind myself :lol1:

PPPRob 30 November 2006, 01:24 Pippyrips, you mentioned that it could be done elsewhere depending on the location of most of the GB people......
.... any idea where it might take place???
It'll be a bit of a trek for me but if it has to be Wales then so be it ;)
Just thought I'd ask :thumb:
