Congratulations to David Higgins and Craig Thorley and all the guys at Barretts Motorsport, winning Gp. N on this years GB rally.
just had the final stage times and he has won by 2.7secs from the hordes of Mitsubishis following in his wake. Apart from the Super Special last night they have been fastest Gp N on every stage since the start of Day 2 (yesterday morning).
Of more significance is the fact that it is the first win in Group N for a Subaru on any WRC round for 2 years!! Lots of the Prodrive guys have been over to the team to offer there congratulations.
Paul Barrett said "This was a team effort, everybody worked flat out for this result. Because of the way start numbers are allocated on WRC rounds, after the end of first day re-seed when we could run further up the order with the other Gp. N cars. We had to claw back huge lumps of time on each stage if we were to have any chance of winning, and eventually David (Higgins) managed to lead the category by 0.7 seconds on the times at the end of the penultimate stage. Despite Ramon Ferreyros (who had been leading Gp. N up to that stage)going flat out on the last stage David increased his (Group N) lead by a further 2.2 seconds. It's a great end to what has been a very quiet year for us."
