An excellent result for Richard Burns, Subaru and the fact we have an English World champion. To top it all - it would be really great if Colin McRae would congratulate RB in public on his achievement. Of course everybody must have some sympathy for Colin, but the bad feeling which has been publicised in the press over the last few days between the two of them, isn’t exactly supporting the true objective of sport. We are in a really fortunate position of having the two top WRC contenders in the UK; and the sport would benefit from supportive comments on ability, rather than critical jibes at one another.

Competition is great as it raises standards. We have had some world class “doubles” i.e. Coe/Ovett in Athletics and Obree/Boardman in cycling, now Burns/McRae for WRC. So well done to you both on your achievements this year.

I've just got back from the rally, had a great time. I also want to say congratulations to SWRT, Burns and Reid.

I went to the service park Saturday afternoon - and the Ralliart guys had packed up. Ah, never mind eh! ;-)

One thing that really got me wound up - after all the rivalry between Burns and McRae, Nicky Grist was on Welsh tv Saturday night, proclaiming himself and McRae "the people's champions" - and he said they were the real champions, whatever the final result.

Talk about a bad loser.... Well done Richard!!!!
