...but he's not just been told a joke, I can assure you...

...he said on Eurosport that there was a ditch on the inside of the 45 left that everyone else had 'hooked', but somehow his suspension broke. Well....no-one one else hooked the ditch I can assure you - the vertical end to it was very severe. How do I know ... I was right there ;)

Cracking pics matey:D

Do you not find you miss the action taking photo's? My brother will quite happily stand with his video camera all day, I'd rather watch the action first hand, hey hum each to their own I guess!

Bob.T - you wanna see the ones that didn't come out properly ;)

Your dead right about missing the action though. These were taken with a held held digital using the LCD display. I tend to watch the cars, but with half an eye on the LCD and take the picture as a secondary activity. Sometimes you win, often you lose - I have a great picture of Carlos Sainz where I lost (see below). The delay between pressing the button and the camera taking the picture is just less than a second, so that doesn't help either. The pictures are taken at 1600x1200, so a bit of cropping in PaintShop to compose the picture (put the car in the middle of the frame etc) and then resize to 640x480 for posting, improves them loads.

With a tripod and the remote control unit, im sure I could be more consistent - just leave the camera aimed at the same place and work out when to press the button such that the delay results in the car being in the centre (ish) of the picture - and concentrate on the live action.

If anyone wants a higher pixel version of either picture, just reply with an e-mail addy and I'll send one through.

Hopefully without boring you, here's a few more I took, cropped and processed down to 640x480..

Hey Martin, that Carlos pic, wow, you could get that featured, make some money out of it...you've seen You've been framed haven't you ;)

They're really good pics, really clear and in focus  Our kid is threatening to get a tripod for his camera, already has the remote. He sat the camera on the pit wall at Donno and just used the remote, like you say though the only problem then is the delay:rolleyes:

The one Of Freddy's car in service..is it just me or does it look evil with the lights reflecting back?

MartinM, great pics. I didn't take a camera myself but the pics you have recall everything for me. I was on SS10 right next to the track when Burnies flew past on a 200m straight at what must have been 180km/hr+ ... that memory will last 4ever, and your pic will remind me of it.

cheers mate.

Yep - went to Trawscoed. Had driven for ages from Service, so got there later then had wanted, so parked quite a distance from the stage. Trekked uphill for what seemed like miles, only to get teh chinese whispers that the stage had been cancelled. Shame - but understandable given the circumstances.
