Why is the Rally GB held only in Wales ?
Or am I missing something ?

Commercialism it seems.
Whoever comes up with the best bid to stage the event. Cardiff won last time out, who next ? - hopefully back over the border so that our stages can recover for the clubmen to enjoy although that may be some time yet as I hear that the Forestry Commission are not regrading.

Spent several hours at the service area in Swansea yesterday; good venue - reasonable grub - but no atmosphere whatsoever - poor attendance - too many helicopter flights. It just seemed too `stage managed` to me - e.g. Burns / Reid due in 1046hrs; some 30 mins earlier the duo arrive on foot and disappear into the Subaru village - 25 mnins later they re-appear and trek off only for Richard to bring the car back in on time. Prior to all this the marshalls clear us paying public from in front of the Subaru village; fair enough but when the car arrives the hoards of `hangers on` and pass holders descend and block the view ! One, less than enthusiastic promotional lady had previously suggested I wave a Subaru flag ........ I politely refused and after being blocked went off to watch the less fashionable teams doing a good job........and that`s where my cash will probably go next if I ever get to change our Subaru.
