View Full Version : Not long now..getting excited
FMC 10 November 2006, 02:04 can't wait. just under (just about) 3 weeks to go. started planning already, got the OS maps out the other night, even did my own recce last sunday with my mate by doing the crychan and halfway stages in the CTR. Even though it was dry, it was mega slippery, no wonder the drivers always say thatit's like ice when the stages are wet, it was bad enough last week (mind you my RE040s are looking a bit thin, so not ideal for the conditions). obviously not going fast, just wanted to plot some points on the satnav, and generally enjoy the experience of driving over many miles of World Rally Championship stages, for fukkking free!!! [who wouldn't??].
cannot think of a better way to spend a weekend really!!!
see you on the stages http://www.type-r-owners.co.uk/phpBB2/images/smiles/023.gif
(although don't know if the civic will have been replaced by then. My S40 has been biult and is awaiting shipping over to blighty on the 21st, then it'll be PDI'd which takes up to 4 days from delivery to dealer, so it's looking tight. really don't want to go in the civic because it's a sh!t to drive in wet/slippy condiditons, and way too uncomfortable fro rallying!! i want comfy seats, xenon lighting for the dark mornings and my iPod! comeon volvo, hurry up!!)
Daft Lad 10 November 2006, 10:53 I'm getting excited now too! Tickets arrived yesterday so all I've got to do now is choose what stages we're going to over the 3 days! :wonder:
Look out for a white (although probably completely ditched by the time I get down there) classic STi and feel free to give me a wave! :D
ddb85 10 November 2006, 11:09 how long did your tickets take to come, daft lad? :)

lol, come to mention it you're probably right ( i cant remember, lol)
gone are the days when the programmes arrived on the doorstep aswell in plastic wrap, i've still got two sealed 2003 programmes in minty condition, think that was the last year they actually printed proper OS maps :(
Daft Lad 10 November 2006, 16:41 Yes I've still got one of them in its packet lying around somewhere too! Found loads of old programmes actually, including one from the 1996 RAC which I managed to get Colin McRae to sign at BRC Live earlier this year! :notworthy
