Main depot's at J32 and J34 of the M4.
All the main access roads to the main areas of the rally.
BEWARE butties!!!!
carter x 02 November 2006, 16:08 sounds like there spending the cash they got in speeding fines during wrgb over the last few years.
and there i was thinking it was going towards putting there kids through college or a boob job for the missus.
ddb85 02 November 2006, 16:30 the ones around herei've noticed, they might drive them to the carmarthenshire stages?
unmarked silver T5 - CU55 DLY
unmarked black T5 - CK56 DLK
:thumb:
CU56 NTS has yet to be spotted yet ;)
Huw Jorgan 02 November 2006, 17:47 Also grey Vecra GSI's quite common around Bridgend as is a silver old style E Class Merc estate. Saw a dark blue 56 plate unmarked Mondeo at Junction 35 on Tuesday.
macattac 02 November 2006, 17:55 Black Evo & dark blue Vectra Neath/Port Talbot & Swansea.
Huw Jorgan 22 November 2006, 18:21 Don't know if it was the police but I was passed the other day by a Toyota Avensis with lights in the grill & rear window. May have been another emegency service.
FMC 22 November 2006, 18:54 Also loads of Octavia RSs, in silver and black. Normally found cruising the A40 Abergavenny area.
A good way to spot ANY unmarked cop car is to scan cars as you approach them for extra aerials on top. Police cars ALWAYS have about 3 extra aerials (spotted a silver Focus ST (5 door) on M6 in Cheshire a few weeks back in lane 2 as i came up in lane 3, noticed the aerials and thought "ah, police!" sure enough, 2 cops wearing black jackets with very discreet Police badges on them!).
Also, unmarked police cars don't have any window stickers (such as dealers' stickers in rear windows) which is even easier to spot from afar. They rarely have mudflaps too.
The tell-tale signs are there, you just need to be vigilant!!
kjdmk1 22 November 2006, 19:33 As your driving into Wales near the toll plaza look out for the scamera van on top of the bridge as you come into in the 50mph bit.
I think it lives there:razz:
i am tez 22 November 2006, 19:39 south wales cameras and camera vans etc bloody breed during walesrallyGB.the bottom line is take it easy, stick to the limits and you will have arrive safely to the stage and wont have a nasty letter in the post 2 days after you get back from the rally!! lol
carter x 23 November 2006, 10:53 the hardest ones to spot are the motor bikes with the cop stood to one side in the sniper position with his laser gun
all ways parked in a row of parked cars etc.
Huw Jorgan 23 November 2006, 13:36 Scamera vans will almost certainly be in residence on bridges over the M4. Travelling west bound on the M4, 1 mile before J35 (Bridgend/Pencoed) is a favourite spot, approx 1 mile before J36 (Bridgend/Sarn services), just before J37 (Porthcawl/Pyle) & a special one it seems just for the Rally (going on past performance, on J38 (Port Talbot/Margam). Don't forget the fixed cameras on the 50 MPH stretch at Port Talbot.
No doubt there will be a lot of others about.
All Torque 23 November 2006, 19:06 An unmarked Silver CK55 *** C class Merc shot past me today on the A465 in Resolven with a nice pettite uniformed brunnette sat in the passenger seat.
FMC 23 November 2006, 20:11 remove your plates (bit drastic/potentially dodgy)
or
hook a carrier bag handle round the top of the front number plate so the bag completely obscures the plate. the force of wind will hold rest in place as you go along ;)
"honestly officer, i've no idea how it got there... must be one of those freak things that just 'happens'!"
Only dodgy bit here is if it's a twin-camera van (that zap you through the front on your way past (nasty bbbbzzz) (they use them to get motorbikes apparently)
choice is yours!
ddb85 24 November 2006, 01:08 how about, just don't speed?lol ;) and use cruise control all the time set at the speed limits? :D
carter x 24 November 2006, 08:21 how about, just don't speed?lol ;) and use cruise control all the time set at the speed limits? :D
this is the best idea.
most people get court when they leave the stage and think there petter soon as they get on a public road.
Smatt 25 November 2006, 09:06 It's easier than that. Just move the rally to some descent stages.
I'm getting bored of the same old crap.
Lets have a GB rally.
ddb85 25 November 2006, 13:34 another one i spotted around here, a dark blue new audi A4
macattac 25 November 2006, 23:02 Scamera vans & temp stationary units make frequent visits to the A465.
During the event they'll all be out in force. And parking in the laybyes will result in clamping & towing.
Greedy Twastards. Why can't they just let sensible drivers enjoy the rally, and increase the amount of marked vehicles to deterr the idiots.
