View Full Version : Accelerator pedal removal? Paul Caley 22 November 2001, 11:53 Anyone know how the pin/bar behind the foot pedal that allows it to pivot comes out?? Regards, Paul Yee 22 November 2001, 17:20 Is a roll pin and is a pain to get out. I was looking at it when I was putting on my STI pedals - untill I realised that accelerator pedal goes over the existing one. Doh!! :D Cheers Iain Paul Caley 22 November 2001, 18:31 Indeed I also have the STI set but I though the bar had to come out to be replaced (when put over the pedal)by the one provided in the kit?? Have did you fit yours??? Cheers Yee 22 November 2001, 19:38 I think that the sti accelerator pedal just slips over the original pedal and then the bolt which is supplied goes through the pin. I think this is how it goes on, as I haven’t got round to putting the accelerator on yet. Or I could be wrong (nothing new there) You haven’t been tapping the roll pin with a hammer have you as this would fold the end over and stop the bolt going through. This happened to m.......err.......a friend of mine and I.......err........he had to wait till he could drill out the pin. :D :D :D :D let me know how you get on Iain stevie c 23 November 2001, 01:55 i fitted the sti pedals, the 'ON' pedal is just a sit-on type, fixed thru the sides, you only replace the others. i think it is very handy getting instructions in japanese!but the picture sort of describes what you should be doing! good luck, steve stevie c 23 November 2001, 01:56 friggin' thing!! won't let me reply, then throws in 2! oh,well! steve edited due to double trouble [Edited by stevie c - 11/23/2001 1:06:07 AM] Paul Caley 26 November 2001, 10:42 Indeed the pedals are now in place! Nice one. Although they cost a load in the end the fit wasn't to hard. My biggest fear being the gas pedal. upon advice I looked to see if the new bar fitted through the old one & it did, touch! Thanks to all for your advice. Paul |
