I wish Eurosport (NTL?) would list the races properly, rather than just put "MotoGP" as the title on their schedules.

I can't work out what time to get up to watch the main race. :wonder: :norty:

My Money is on Vale, almost certainly though it will end in tears for someone. I predict that one of the main contenders will have an off, almost certainly assisted by the other main contender?

Can't say I'm gutted in any way as it is so obvious how much this means to Nicky, and his whole family for that matter.

Well done lad.

Its great to see another world champion at last, but I think Rossi will be back in charge next year. :)

But until then, well done Nicky!

I thought it was all a bit of an anti climax after the build up. :(

Bayliss was a revelation though. :thumb:

brilliant race for Bayliss..................gutted that Hayden won it, not exactly been the "star performer" this year

what a ride from Bayliss.gutted when Rossi went down.let's wait and see how Hayden adapt's to a 800

yep, it was a bit of an anti climax, when rossi dropped it, i was hoping for a real gritty race,
one thing is , rossi buckling under the pressure!!
and the factg hayden stayed cool and went for it, i think the best man won at the end , i think rossi is , ultimately, the best rider, but he buckled today and hayden didn't, ,
bayliss has thrown a right wild card in now, i bet some team bosses are scratching there head!!
next year we should see who the best rider is, because of the tyre rule changes!!!, rossi and hayden have custom made tyre for each race, which will stop!!, we may see some upset,

Good race:) , rossi defo a better rider, not today tho.

Whats with the new 800cc set-up for next year, one of the commentators seemed a little sceptical about it being a 'safety' decision:wonder:

The rules changed reducing engine size in the hope of reducing speed, but Caparossi has already got with in a second or two of a lap record he set this year whilst testing the 'Slower' bike of next year, and they will only get faster.

Yeah was disappointed with the race, Rossi looked like he was struggling from the beginning, it took him till lap 20 odd to do a lap time quicker than the front runners.
I didn't want Hayden to win, not a fan, specially of the inbred accent, find it a tad annoying, anyone to have won apart from him:(

I Think a conspiracy is going on, funny how Rossi gets Pole, then Bogs down at start, drops to 7th or a few laps then "drops" it and plods along for the rest of the race.....:wonder:

just the usual Yamaha tyre issues no doubt................................

Obviously part of the deal which saw Edwards get a 'Rossi' spec bike at Estoril was that at the next race Vale got to experience what a POS Colin (and the Tech3 duo for that matter) has been saddled with all year;)

So what will the story be with Bayliss? I'm sure that Stoner's contract is strong but I have never seen a guy (Bayliss) so underwhelmed while winning a world championship. It may be just me but he had little real competition this year apart from maybe JT and Haga towards the end and always seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else.
It seems strange that he would be satisfied with going back to World Supers after such a dominant performance in MotoGP.
I'd love to see him on the Duc in MotoGP for another season.

Oh.....and I wanted to see Rossi win but Hayden did a fantastic job yesterday.

You could say Rossi lost the Championship by 0.002 sec. If Ellias hadn't beaten Rossi at Estorill, Rossi would have had the 5 extra points need to draw with Hayden (and thus win on number of wins).
If that had been the case it would have been interesting to see Hayden fight for 2nd yesterday.

All credit most go to Bayliss - Ducati must be regretting signing Stoner for next year when they have a (2nd) potential GP champion already signed (what could have been had Capirossi not been injured this year).

lets be realistic here, bayliss wernt no good when riding before in motogp. capirossi aint that good either, but the ducati really is the fastest bike out there this year hence the results. rossi has been on a dog of a bike all year and shows his skill as a rider to put it near the top race after race. look where the likes of edwards and checa have finished each race !

Capirossi no good?? His season has probably been worse than Rossi's and he still gets 3rd in the championship - the Duke historically was fast but the other teams have caught up now and look at Sete, challenging Rossi on a Honda but nowhere on the Ducati. Can't credit Bridgestones otherwise the Kawasakis & Suzukis would consistantly be in the frame too.

No-one recently has turned from one class to the other & got results (ie Edwards, Haga etc) so Bayliss's result has got to be admired - if it were Toseland on a RCV winning as a one-off wildcard would there be doubters?

Simon, Bayliss wants to win SBK on 3 generations of Ducati - the 916/996/998, the 999 and the new 1200.

He also feels that MotoGP is "a young man's game" and that he's probably too old to give it his best.

That's direct from him, yesterday ;)
