View Full Version : Knocklink GB
borat52 27 October 2006, 10:18 I've been searching for a knocklink for a few weeks now and I cant find them for a reasonable sum of money. I'm going to contact a few suppliers:
Here we have list of quantities and prices with bosch sensor:
15 people = £120 delivered and in stock in the UK.
Anybody can join this GB as long as it is before the deadline.
DEADLINE: 18:00 Wednesday 15th november.
I'm going to say that these are the final prices, and when we get the final numbers I will re-approach the UK suppliers to see if they can beat the new zealand prices/match them but deliver quicker
Please add your name to the list if interested:

£120 (delivered?) would be perfect!! ;)
borat52 27 October 2006, 11:40 Currently have a solid £125 including VAT and delivery confirmed and in stock with a UK supplier. This is pending on 15 people being interested. I have contacted other suppliers both in the UK and abroad and am awaiting their response but £125 is a very good starting point.

borat52 29 October 2006, 12:59 Small update, I'm looking to get this GB wrapped up within 2 weeks. Get your name down if your after one!
borat52 29 October 2006, 22:07 I've just heard beack from a new zealand dealer and they can supply them at £110 shipped to the UK with all tax paid up, obviously I would have to then forward these on for a postal cost and they would take 1 or 2 weeks to get to the UK by airmail.
I am going to try to get that down a bit for 15. I am going to suggest that the final price for 15 units would be £110 per unit delivered to your house from this dealer, however there would be a 2 week wait.

C'mon people .... any more?? :thumb:
Turbo_T 29 October 2006, 22:49 lol where does the sensor go wont be a prob fittin it just dunno what and where u got 2 do
borat52 29 October 2006, 23:03 I think the sensors is mounted on the injector plug. You can almost make out how it fits from this picture of the sensor:
Knock Sensor for the Link Engine Management System — Link Engine Management Systems - plug-in & wire-in aftermarket ECU's (http://www.linkecu.com/products/InstallationAccessories/Sensors/knocksensor)
RB5 69 29 October 2006, 23:03 Have a look at RB5 Owners Club Website (http://www.rb5oc.co.uk/stephanknock.asp) for a start .... but i'll find out the exact position for the sensor on an Impreza! ;)

borat52 31 October 2006, 13:06 Just got a quote back from another UK supplier, 10 people £120 incl VAT and delivery, 20 people £110 including Vat and delivery.
Anyone have access to any other subaru forums or evo forums to combine a GB? If we can get 20 then thats a great price.
RB5 69 31 October 2006, 13:38 Thats a fantastic price mate .... well done!! :thumb:

Molds 31 October 2006, 15:28 If the car is mapped properly, or OEM and you use the relevant fuel...why do you need one?
New_scooby_04 31 October 2006, 15:48 If the car is mapped properly, or OEM and you use the relevant fuel...why do you need one?
Contaminated batch of fuel, failing maf sensor etc....

borat52 31 October 2006, 16:44 If the car is mapped properly, or OEM and you use the relevant fuel...why do you need one?
mapped properly but modded then yes you would be wise to have one, as you are pushing the engine that much closer to its limit, so bad fuel or failing MAF would be more detrimental that usual.
OEM then no need imho.
RB5 69 31 October 2006, 17:07 I would also say that if you have a MY99/00 car, whether OEM or modded, a Knock Link is a must .... given the reliability of the MAF's on these cars .... and the consequences of one failing! ;)
Col 31 October 2006, 22:38 Been meaning to buy one of these for a while, already replaced one engine dont fancy another one!

stuart74 31 October 2006, 22:55 Have posted up in Ayrshirescoobies.com :: View Forum - Group Buys (http://ayrshirescoobies.myfastforum.org/forum10.php) just in case any of the guys are intrested
borat52 31 October 2006, 22:55 It turns out that the cheaper UK supplier is just going to order them on demand anyway meaning a 5-10 day wait after payment has cleared. I got back onto the new zealand supplier and I can do this direct with them, providing my VAT and customs duty calculations are correct then it works out at £115 per unit for 10 people or £110 per unit for 15 people. This includes VAT and post to your home. But we would have to wait about 2 weeks after payment has cleared.
Personally I favour this as we need fewer people for the golden £110 price.
If everybody agrees then I'm going to say that as soon as we have 15 then we go ahead with this supplier for £110 per unit.
