Can you get the stuff that they drill/inject into the walls of your house for a damp course?? I am thinking of doing it myself and then at the end just getting a plasterer to finish the job off???

HSS will hire you the injection kit. Looks like it includes the fluid too.

DPC injection kit (http://www.hss.com/g/50332/Damp_Proof_Injection_Unit.html)

Cheers,
Steve

With doing a search for DPC creme/cream as this is just as effective but no need to remove plaster if no evidence of damp currently

If you've no evidence of damp you are better off looking for the causes rather than injecting just yet. Look for leaking gutters and the height of the soil at the outside of the wall. Also make sure its not caused by excess humidity inside giving the damp meter a dodgy reading. We've learnt loads about damp with our current project house and really you can do a lot to stop it before you start injecting. ours we can't inject as its listed but overhauling the gutters and lowering the outside soil level have improved matters no end. make sure you don't paint with products that seal the damp in the wall etc and learn a lot before you even approach anyone that advertises damp cures as there are a lot of cowboys about

al4x1 makes a good point - the old house that we're doing up is damp, but since I've taken the outside ground level down below the DPC, and removed the plaster inside that was bridging it, you can see the wall above the old slate DPC is drying out.

Shame that Bob the Bodger who was there before us put the floors in below the DPC!?
