Potterton SUprima 50 Boiler/Drayton Tempus 7 Timer/ Drayton Digistat 1 Wired Thermostat
In CH mode only boiler shows flashing green call light fires up but then immediately red light (Demand satified) light comes on. Then green then red, then it will hold green for a couple of mins and so on. Purely random.
In CH/HW mode there is no problem, bolier runs normally and demand for CH met.
CH engineer called and serviced boiler on Friday (no issues) changed pcb and problem still occurring so suggested changing the timer board. Did so on Friday and initially thought it was much better but over weekend experienced same issue. Could it be the Thermostat? CH Engineer felt it wouldn't be that but that seems to be the only other point of failure. Don't want to go out and spend £30 on a new Thermostat if not likely to be the issue.
Any help please.

OK, seems to me you need to have a word with the guy who has changed the board, timer & room stat and get ya money back!!!
He has ripped you off completely and you need to get someone out who actually knows something about boilers!!! :Whatever_
I have just been through the technical pages at Potterton and it seems this could just be the air pressure switch at fault (or the pieto tubes inside the fan blocked up). This would cause intermittant problems, but nothing you would be able to do.
You need to call Baxi/Potterton and get them to recommend you a Potterton specialist in your area.

Thanks Ricky, much appreciated. Unfortunately this IS the local potterton specialist :(
Round here unless you are on someones list of clients they are not interested, so not as easy as switching engineers.

Sorry I'm not more local, otherwise I would have come and had a look...
You could always ring CORGI and I really know what you mean by finding a good installer a hard thing to do.
At the same time though don't pay for any works until the job is complete and you are satisfied the boiler is working correctly...

Appreciate the thought. The guy is coming back on Friday, i emailed him your suggestion. I think he is a bit embarrassed so with any luck we'll have it fixed. To be fair to the guy he's taken over the business from a well established guy who emigrated, he is ex forces so has been training up. Will give him a chance to fix.

Makes no difference, should still know what he needs to do or F*** **F and stop taking the piss pretending he knows his stuff.
