came to fit the front ARB yesterday and the ball joints on the drop links wouldnt lock up no matter which way I pushed them, probably would have got it eventually if it hadnt started raining BUT.....

... Came on here to see if there was nack to this and read some where that only STi's had the ball joint droplinks?? and Aluminum whish bones which mine also has? Its a MY93 WRX I dont even think they did an STi in that year

so does that mean the droplinks I have bought wont work? are the STi ones just as good as the whiteline products anyway.

Please help,
Gaz

They don't lock.
You need to put an allen key in the end of it to hold it still while doing the nut up with a spanner.

errr... ok i'll have to have a look at that because i dont know where you'd put an allan key init, you mean in the end of the bolt part?

so these are STi ones then?

thanks for the quick reply,

The rear ones have a flat on the back that you can get a spanner on (between rubber and ARB) but the front links do not have this. (Wish they did)

Yes in the threaded end of the bolt there is a hex for an allen key.
Give the threads a good wire brush and a bit of WD40 as well and you should be lucky. Might be full of rust so you cant see it :D
I've only ever had to cut one off :D

All the ally arms I have seen have ball joint drop links

does that mean my new drop links wont fit??

shall I just use the ball jointed links anyway, they seem pretty strong.

IMHO: Nothing wrong with the Sti front ball drop links at all.

no point in changing ball jointed droplinks unless they are worn out.
