View Full Version : what is the safe water temp? mikeswrx02 16 October 2006, 20:49 hi, my gsxr600ke always nearly reaching water temp 100degC at heavy traffic times. sometimes 105degC. is it safe to ride on at 105????:wonder: cheers Paddi70 16 October 2006, 21:03 Normal temp should be 80 ish once warmed up, and what you have after a good ride out once stopped. If your hitting that temp on the move would sujest you get it looked at. Nido 16 October 2006, 21:34 If it's only doing it during heavy traffic then shouldn't be a problem - they all do that sir!! Check your owners book, but I think it says you only need to worry if it hits 130  The fan on mine cuts in at 105 (I think), and whilst it hits that point very quickly in traffic, it never goes above. No problem I'd say :thumb: Sbradley 16 October 2006, 22:10 Seconded. My K4 750 runs around 105 all the time in town. No problem :) SB mikeswrx02 17 October 2006, 18:59 cheers all, Yeah, it hits around 100-105 in very heavy traffic. once on a clear road for a few minutes, it lowers quickly. so i have nothing to worry about then.:luxhello: Sonic_Danny 18 October 2006, 09:55 My K4 600 runs about 105 in traffic too! brickboy 18 October 2006, 12:13 I once used that Redline Water Wetter stuff in my old Volvo T4, it did reduce running temps slightly, don't know if it's worth a try in a bike engine |
