He did do well and I hope he has a ride with Rizla Suzuki next year, but he hardly had much competion to contend with apart from Cal Crutchlow.....but the guy did well and hopefully impressed enoufh to secure a ride.

Hang on ya big mincer............................................ .................................................. ..........................half a days test on Thursday then in at the deep end on Sat & Sunday.
New bike and new tyres and a new circuit to learn.
He did pretty well but I do agree no Ducati`s etc to deal with ;)

Cal stacked his on the time trials, but had an awesome race for second. Walker came first, as he should. But with a very good lead of about 4 sec. Johnny Rea stacked it big, on crutches unable to race, shame as he is a big contender for next year. Rizla ride hopefully will be chris W's but then there is history between the new rizla manager and him, also Rutter is still without a ride for next year.

You telling me Walker doesn't know Mallory, I'd say b******s matey, I agree new tyres, bike etc. etc. but he had relatively no competition so he should have won by miles.

He`s never been on the new circuit layout but I agree not too hard to learn but come on new bike and new tyres reckon he did pretty good!!

Dunno how good the Suzi is really, Shakey managed a couple of good results but it didn't seem competitive with the HM / Red Bull Hondas or the Dukes.

Chris'll sort it out though!

I still remember being gutted when his Crescent Suzi blew up in the final round and he lost the title to Hodgson, there was a tear in my eye :D

The suzi is a fantastic bike, and nearly 15bhp up on his WSB bike. That is where a possible problem lies, Shane did have some good results, but he also punted it down the track a good few times as well.

the suzi is fantastic, and still developping all the time but the thing we, suzuki or chris walker fans have to be concerned about is the oversized ducatis to come! its a bloody sham if you ask me changing all the sb rules to suit the flippin ities that run the wsb series, and if the rule changes carry over to all sb series it will be a disaster as far as i'm concerned, and any other manufacturer who turns their back on any level series wuill be doing the right thing in protesting in my book..

its not like the race ducati's are missing any power or speed now is it? bayliss winning the title early, and leon and gregorio battling to the death at home, what's supposed to be bad about em again??

anyway enough ranting, it'd be great to see bog brush back in bsb, and hopefully, whatever he rides, he can lift a cup this time, but suzuki do owe him a favour and their relationship is still very good, so fingers crossed eh...

cheers guys

Haven't followed this much, but I think it is not so much the power outputs that are the problem with the twins, but the running costs to get such power. That's why there are very few private duke teams now, the equivialent costs of running a 4 are just so much cheaper (longer service intervals and lower stress on parts).

I think if they (V-twins) go to a bigger engine capacity the scope to tune them gets less :wonder:

:lol1:

I think the relationship is just starting again, and Suzuki GB owe him little! He did screw up the hard won plans to take him and team to WSB by leaving for the Shell Advance quite late on......

From Rizla-Suzuki Website

CHRIS WALKER will race a Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000 in the 2007 British Superbike Championship.

Fans’ favourite Walker earned his seat with Rizla Suzuki by winning the Race of the Year at Mallory Park in Leicestershire on October 15th - and by bringing a fresh, professional and hungry-for-success approach to the team.

“I am absolutely made-up to have signed on the dotted line to be a Rizla Suzuki BSB rider in 2007,” explained Walker. “I think just about everyone knew how much I wanted the ride, it was number one on my wish list and I couldn’t be any happier than I am right now.

“The Rizla Suzuki team was exceptional at Mallory Park, providing me with the platform to win the race despite years away from the circuit and having to get used to a new bike and Dunlop tyres. The performance of the 2006 GSX-R1000 I rode was mind blowing and just made me want to be a part of the team even more.

“I had a nervous week after Mallory Park waiting for the phone to ring but now it is all confirmed and it is a huge relief. My heartfelt thanks go to the team, Crescent Suzuki – and to Suzuki GB in particular - for their faith in me.

A four-time runner-up in BSB, most recently with Suzuki in 2000, Walker knows what it will take to win in the most competitive national Superbike Championship in the world.

The 34-year-old from Nottingham said: “The scale of the task before me and Rizla Suzuki is immense. I have watched the BSB Championship during the last couple of years and the competition is fierce and of extremely high quality. Given the level of riders and factory-backed machinery, I’d say it could be every bit as difficult as winning in World Superbikes.

“The big difference for me is I will be with Rizla Suzuki on a factory bike and that gives me great hope. The hard work starts now in preparation for the 2007 British Superbike Championship with a test at Valencia next week. We have a new bike to develop before the season starts.

“To all the Stalker fans in the UK: I’m coming home and can’t wait to be racing in front of you, I hope you are looking forward to joining me on the next step of the adventure with Rizla Suzuki.”

Walker proved his class by winning a race at Assen World Superbikes in August, but he is expecting to be pushed next year by his new Rizla Suzuki team mate Cal Crutchlow, the reigning British Supersport Champion and one of Britain’s hottest young talents.

Rizla Suzuki Team Manager Simon Buckmaster said: “Chris really wanted to race for Rizla Suzuki and his positive, hard-riding, never-give-up attitude at Mallory Park’s Race of the Year convinced us he was the right person for the job. With his experience and ability matched with Cal’s raw enthusiasm and talent, we have what we believe is a very strong team for 2007.”

Walker’s first public appearances as a Rizla Suzuki racer will be at Birmingham’s NEC Bike Show on Trade and Preview days 26-27th October, on the Suzuki stand T174, Hall 19. He will then travel to Valencia with the Rizla Suzuki Superbike team for a test alongside the MotoGP regulars on 1-2nd November, before returning to the NEC Show on 4-5th November.
