View Full Version : Revolution give you 21BHP for only £149.99!!!!!
REVOLUTION 12 October 2006, 18:01 Hi Everyone
We've been doing some secret testing with K&N and have developed an awesome induction kit for the New Age Impreza models.
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f63/revolutionmotorstoreuk/Revo-Apollo-6.jpg
The results on K&N's dyno (on a back to back test) showed 16bhp increase on a K&N Panel filter - which equates to approx 21bhp on a std UK car at the wheels!!!
See graph on link.......
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f63/revolutionmotorstoreuk/Revo-Apollo-1.jpg
Its a modification to the already well known Apollo universal kit which uses a closed intake rather than an open cone filter thus illiminating most of the heat from the engine bay affecting any performance.
We've modified the kit to include the cold air feed directly from the front bumper on our MY06 model up to the filter (available seperately) and we've also had the AFM housing machined to fit perfectly.
For those who prefer, you can keep you existing fog-covers & fog lamps and leave the cold air feed in the arch liner, but the gains will be slightly less.
We've designed the kit as a 'silent unit' and there is very little noise to be heard even at full boost - only a small noise from the dump-valve when throttling off, so no-one need know what's going on under your hood!!!
Designed for all New Age Turbocharged models in 2.0ltr or 2.5ltr engines. The unit is also capable of handling air flow up to 400bhp for those of you on big BHP builds.
Available in 'stealth black' (as pictured) or 'shiny silver' & we are working on a 'wrinkle red' finish to match the STI inlet manifold but that is planned for next year.
We are launching the kit to all Scoobynet members at a launch price of £149.99 instead of £169.99 for a limited period only and our 1st delivery is due any day now.
So check out the pictures and give us your feedback, we'd appreciate your comments.

As you can see from the picture below - getting into K&N's rolling road isn't the usuall drive on drive off affair !!!!!!

No remap needed Jon
Not just for the induction kit anyway, maybe if you were fitting a full exhaust at the same time.
All the emissions etc were checked when on the rolling road and the car performed and ran spot on.

Neanderthal 14 October 2006, 12:57 Speak to you on Monday then :D
mickywrx 15 October 2006, 23:23 Gaffer Glenn @ Revolution took me out in this car yesterday. I was SO impressed. The new coilovers that he's fitted are so smooth, no rattly teeth. Very responsive and fookin quick car all round. :thumb:
I've got first dibs when he wants the rawness of a classic for a few hours. S don't bother asking :D :D :lol1:
~~ Cal ~~ 15 October 2006, 23:36 Sounds like I wizard device. Suprised at the lack of requirement for a remap though. I only ask as I am genuinely interested. I thought you had to account for scaling etc ? I might be talking cack though ? For me an additional remap for this CAI would add £200 so it's a genuine question ?

Neanderthal 17 October 2006, 11:00 Ordered via the website :D
REVOLUTION 17 October 2006, 11:08 Hi Cal
K&N said just putting the induction kit on alone would not require a map, but in conjunction with other mods could benefit from this.
Our 06 sti with this kit on was at the Nuurburgring yesterday and currently going around Spa as we speak testing this.
Will let you know how it gets on and relay any feedback to you on thursday when the car is back.

Yep, they have a fully kitted out workshop attached to the shop:thumb:
subarujimmy 29 October 2006, 15:13 Just got a few questions about this.
Firstly, roughly what bhp increase will I make on a 03 wrx (standard).
Secondly, where does it get its air feed from? (i.e. engine bay or wing).
Thirdly, is this an oiled filter? (cos these seem to be a big no-no with the maf)
Fourthly, whos actually bought and fitted one yet? :)
Thanks :)
frayz 29 October 2006, 21:23 Sorry guys, this looks like a nice bit of kit but a seriously doubt you'll see 21bhp with no mapping adjustments.
Very likely with mapping but im not convinced without.. Sorry :(
Neanderthal 30 October 2006, 10:46 I've ordered one but I think they're still waiting on a part to be fabricated.
Haven't got a remap yet but I'm planning to hence getting everything in place before hand ;)
Neil W 30 October 2006, 13:02 Looks good and the gains sound great but I guess this mod is not warranty friendly?
sparkywrx94 30 October 2006, 13:27 Are there any plans to make a bigger version that will be good for 450+ bhp aplications

Hi mate
1, We have not tested on a wrx so could not tell you a bhp for this car although the power gains will be still a good increase.
2, The feed is from the inner wing, although if fog covers are purchased ( see our demo car ) you can take the air feed directly from the front bumper.
3, The filter is very slightly oil'd but is not wet to the touch!
4, We have a few orders in now and currently running one on our 2.5 sti MY06
Thanks

Hi frayz
The kit is currently fitted to our MY 06 2.5 STi and this is the power the car achieved on K@N's rolling road !!
The car spent 4 days doing 1700 miles testing driving across France, Belgium and Germany, including a day at the Nurburgring and a track day at Spa without any problems what so ever.
Believe me we wouldn't claim something which we didn't have a dyno print out and our own testing on the road to back up.
We have all payed a lot of money for our cars and we wouldn't sell you something which would put your car in any danger.
Our car has not had a remap and still achieved the stated gain, if you choose to buy with a view to getting your car mapped it could possibly help achieve even more !!
I understand it does seem like a massive increase and it supprised us too !!
I remember Glenn ringing us up when he was down at K&N saying " You will never belive the power the STi has just made"
The car is much better to drive now and the difference is noticable.
By all means if you're ever in the area pop in and say hi and we will take you out in the car to feel it for youself !!
After all it was only a few years ago it was unbelievable that we got 39bhp from our 3" Revolution system for a classic. lol
Hope this helps mate

You're one of the few companies that don't charge till you dispatch http://bbs.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif. I haven't got the cash for a remap yet anyhow! Just improving the car bit by bit.
