CHILDREN IN NEED CONVOY TO NORWICH

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 17TH (Early Evening)

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a243/scoobycitypics/Photoshops/CIN06.gif

For the fourth year running, the ESC will be helping Scoobycity (http://www.scoobycity.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=22365&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45) in supporting the BBC's Children In Need appeal, with their now-famous, and magazine featured Charity Convoy through Norwich City Centre.

If you've never been on this before, you've missed out on one of the most satisfying, enjoyable and worthwhile events of the year.........where else would you get a convoy of dozens of Scoobs, creating havoc by taking over the city centre roads, making a complete spectacle of themselves, whilst raising money and doing it all with the support of the Norfolk Constabulary?

Last year, we had about 50 cars, and raised several thousand pounds, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves into the bargain.

Once again, this year we will have full support from the Norfolk Constabulary (with many thanks to Dirty Harry .44), with a Police liveried Scooby and Evo to lead the convoy, and to block off the junctions, roundabouts etc so we can enjoy uninterrupted progress through the city.

We will again park up for a regroup/pose/picture opportunity in Gentlemans Walk, and get out and about with the collecting buckets to get even more money.

Sponsor forms are available from the BBC Children In Need website (http://www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey/fundraising/orders.shtml) , so you can go around your friends, family and co-workers to get them to donate to this most worthy of causes.

Final details to be confirmed

Please get your names down & put this in your diary now

This is from the Scoobycity organisers & will help explain what will happen on the night.

Please have a read & click on the relevant links.

"To recap the numerous threads covering various points, I'll do my best to group the most important bits here.

Wherever you're coming from, you should aim to arrive at Makro's in Norwich for 6.30pm, as we'll aim to form the convoy up and leave from 7pm onwards. When you arrive, and before you park-up, please keep an eye out for one of the Team - we'll be wearing high-viz vests, so should stand out! They'll have a list of names, so give them your username, and hand over your £5 entry per car. After you've parked up, please hand-over any other sponsor money you've collected to a Team member, and let them know how much, so we can keep a running total.

Please read Dirty Harry's post regarding the requests from Norfolk Constabulary, and bear in mind that whilst we aim to have a good time, and it is all for charity, it couldn't happen without their support, so please behave in a respectable manner. We'll be attracting a whole heap of attention with the noise, the sights, the noise..................oh yes, and the noise ;) of our convoy, so make sure it's for all the *right* reasons. :D

We'll park up in Gentlemans Walk for a regroup, photo-shoot, and hopefully Media interviews. Please don't stray too far from your cars, as we'll need everyone to reform and leave in a relatively organised manner! :lol1:

When we get to Little Melton, please keep the speeds down to 20mph, and drive responsibly through the village. We intrude on their home once a month for our regular meets, so please be respectful. Parking may be a little tight at the pub, so make the most of the space available. The Village Inn are very kindly laying on a free buffet, so make sure you buy lots of liquid refreshment! We'll have the play area for our use as well.

I think that's about it for the serious stuff now. ;)

Above all else, have fun, enjoy yourselves, and remember the reasons why we're all doing this in the first place! :D

We raised over £2500 last year. Lets see if we can DOUBLE that this year! :D "
