Howdy folks

I'd like to wire up a cathode to my boot light wiring but not sure which wires to use?

I've disconnected the boot light and looked at the wires running to it

There's a blue wire, a yellow wire and the is also a green wire joing on the the yellow before it reaches the boot light itself

I'm looking for a live which is only live when the boot is open for obvious reasons and a neutral wire?

Any pointers will be much appreciated :luxhello:

Best bet would be to buy a circuit tester from a car shop. The one you want is the brass bodied one with a sharp point on one end, and a wire terminating in a croc clip on the other.
Connect croc clip to earth, and use sharp point to penetrate wire insulation to find live;)

Cost a couple of quid, invaluable.

BTW: what's a cathode? (besides a -ve electrode)

or get a cheap one with 2 croc clips and stick a pin in one to penetrate the plastic insulation :D

Yeah a cold cathode sorry chaps. Figured out which is the live so i guess the other will be suitable for an earth
