View Full Version : SMACS - I am livid and gutted....
scoobygav555 09 October 2006, 21:06 Well today some stupid bint decided to pull straight in front of me and crash into me.
I was on the A6 at the Lamborghini garage junction going down the hill. The traffic in the right lane is at a standstill and the inside lane clear. This is the lane i was in. There was an ambulance at the front of the que in the right lane waiting for the traffic to move infront. He'd left the gap because of the yellow box you arn't allowed to stop in. So i'm just going past him at about 25mph and to my horror i see a Honda CRV about 7 yards infront of me coming across my lane from the opposite direction:eek: i had about a second to react but had no chance what so ever so all i could do was brace myself for the inevitable and the noise will stay with me forever:( I had to stay in the car for a couple of minutes for fear i'd bloody strangle her. Instead i stayed in there shouting no at the top of my voice. I just couldn't believe what had happened. That some stupid fcuking muppet had wrecked my pride and joy after only 2 months of ownership. To say i was gutted is an undertatement, i had about a million different emotions going through me. So i get out to take a look and i'm not going to deny it, tears came to my eyes for about 5 minutes as i stared at it. The car is too damn good to be sat there looking like that and i felt really bad for it. Weird how i was so emotionally attached to it as i'm not the tearful type.
Anyway i got it towed to ProSport where it lies now to be assesed. I spent the afternoon in hospital with a stiff neck, back, jaw, wrist and knee:eek:
Will put some pics up when i get them,
Gav..:(

Beefy 09 October 2006, 22:11 Its just one of those things unfortunately lad, could happen to any one of us any day of the week. At least you know its not down to anything youve done so the insurance should pay out quickly. I presume there were some witnesses to attest to the other drivers stupidity? I'm sure it wont be long before youre back on the road mate.

paulthejambo 09 October 2006, 23:24 I can only echo what's been said above Gav. My brother walked past the aftermath on the way to the station and I was gutted when he told me about it.
I hope everything gets sorted asap for you.
Martin-STI 09 October 2006, 23:26 Sure Carla will rub and kiss your sore bits better ??????????????
How is your groin??
Gutted for you mate. See told you, its safer driving around "The Ring" all going the same way.
Andy S. 09 October 2006, 23:38 Cant beleive it gutted for you gav, hope its just superficial damage:(
scoobygav555 10 October 2006, 00:44 Thanks everyone:)
I know it's "only" a car but we are all enthusiasts who love our scoobs and hate to see them in any way but perfect:( I really am gutted. I take so much pride in how clean my car is, i've just spent £400 on a Porter Cable and various cleaning bits to make it even better too:( I know it's in the best hands in the country (IMHO) when it comes to scoobs and will be nothing but perfect when it comes back to me. In the meantime i've got something, i've no idea what turning up as a hire car tomorrow morning to look forward to. Cat and fiddle anyone? haha...;)
Gav..:) / :(

Martin-STI 10 October 2006, 08:03 Hope it doesnt effect your Golf Swing mate.:Whatever_
Prosport will get it sorted. You can always practise cleaning mine in the mean time.:thumb: :thumb:
So is it a KA? Corsa? C3? Dont forget mate you drive a Scooby for the big boot, tell the insurance you need a bigger car if not happy.:thumb:
Anderooo 10 October 2006, 08:11 Gutted for you, hope you recover quickly.
blitzboy1 10 October 2006, 12:24 Sorry to hear the news buddy, sounds a bit like what happened to chris in his classic, that just spurred him on to upgrade, thing is you've got nothing to upgrade too, yours was one of the most sorted cars i know.
As long as your ok and im sure you'll be back soon.
Blitz
cw42 10 October 2006, 13:10 It was indeed similar tony, although my stupid old driver pulled out on me from a side road, and like gav, I was well below the 30mph limit for the road :(
