Does anybody know if its possible to see any of the rally for free?? I have no intention of spending a whole weekend by the road side but i wouldnt mind seeing a couple of hours without shelling out big bucks.

Go to the opening ceremony in cardiff, afterwards you can go into town and have a couple of stella's.

its been on ITV a few times lately :)

ITV and Eurosport show programs but they're usually the same.

The 3 day program is the best fix of Rally action although it's still only an hour long or so... :(

If you've got a day spare, why not register as a marshall, and sign up to marshall a stage for the day? Yo'll get to see 2 runs through the stage, as well as drive it to get to your post, and you'll be giving something back to the sport. Everyone's a winner.

Pedestrian access to the Forest has always been free, just get yourself a decent OS map and make use of public footpaths & bridleways that criss cross the area.

The plan is to set off from the Halifax area about 3am Saturday 2nd December ... Get to Llandovery to the Crycan forest for the days stages ...

Then sleep over in some B+B in Llandovery then up early doors to watch Sundays rallying ....

when does the rally take place and where... im new to rally, and england itself...(american) and i will be there flying in as of tues morning the 10th... i would like to make it out to watch the rally..... i have a phoographer friend from Subysport mag that is going aND supposed to be getting me passes but who knows maybe i could roll with you fellas if you dont mind me tagging along!!!!!!!!!!

I will have a think about it, i was going down with my brother. We have a house down there that we can use but i think its too far south as its in Llanelli. If we do decide to go he will be paying half towards the fuel!!!! Would we need to book a B&B or are we going to take a risk and try on the day. If so i might take a sleeping bag just in case. How many folk are thinking of going from Halifax and are they all SCoobys???

The Boy. Llanelli is 30mins drive from most of the stages. (not accounting for traffic)
And 1hr from Cardiff at legal speeds. It's not a bad base.
