Hi Mate
The stuff you are on about has a very thin aluminium face with sticky bitumen behind it, then a peelable paper.
What you have to do is the clean the wall where the flashing is going so there is no loose debris etc..
then you have to paint a bitumen primer onto where the flashing is going, let that dry and then peel the paper off the flashing and stick onto wall where you have painted the primer and let it overlap onto the roof.
I have used the bitumen flashing a few years ago and it still is doing its job very well and had no trouble at all as long as prepare it properley like i said.
Any DIY store or builders merchants you will be able to get it from.
Hope this helps

My conservatory came with a sort of sticky-backed thin lead sheet.
I think builder's merchants sell it.

why do you need to replace it is it leaking if not leave it you could find that there cavity wall trays in the wall and have nothing but leakes if you mess.if it is leaking get a roofer in to disc in new lead it will be the best money youve ever spent because if it leaks when he does it he will have to come back and fix it,if you do it and it leaks youl be forever on the roof.

Thanks for your help everyone, ive sorted it now with some stuff called flashband.
I needed to replace it due to having a new roof which sits higher than the original flash which was also split & leaked. No cavity in my house either, its proper old.
