As most of you have probably sussed by now I'm addicted to sunsets :cuckoo:

Last week was particularly good with a decent sunset almost every evening :)

Let me know what you think of these shots of the cooling towers at the otherwise demolished Willington Power Station?

Awesome :thumb:

I've seen some wicked sunsets offshore but you need a permit to use a camera outside the accommodation, by the time you got all that sorted you would have missed it. If you got one organised in advance it's sods law there would be nothing to see

I'm working in Sheffield at weekends which invloves damn early starts on Saturday (drive up). Theres been some beautifull dawns over Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Pity you can't stop on the M1 or I would.

Your missing them!!! Nice shots though, very coffee table book shots. :thumb:

I've never been one for mornings Simon ;) but they are getting later so I may well catch a few once it starts getting frosty :thumb:

From the M1 you don't even see the good bits of Derbyshire, but on a weekeday you'ld probably be stopped anyway ;)

oooh nice :thumb:

Difficult to decide between the two as I love the very rich blue and firey orange in the top one, but prefer the spread of colour in the second.

I work in Sheffield too Simon, but thankfully not the weekends (unless deadlines are approaching!!!)

As CW mentioned, mornings are arriving later, and will soon be driving over the moors at dawn :)

Well at lkeast your drive in is more exciting than mine!!! I leave home at 5 to be in the office for 8 and its all M1, and the office is 70 yds from the airport runway!!!

Upon reflection, I prefer the first 1, but don't know why. I like both

Which way do you mean? twist or horizontal alignment?

They are arranged in a V formation so hard to get them all aligned, unless I moved 200 yds left at which point I would have been in the river ;)

It would have been better a couple of weeks ago, when I could have got the V lined up with the sunset, but the skies were crap then :(

I had about one shot every 10-30 seconds, so it's almost like watching the clouds on video ;) Not all the same angle or exposure though so picked out the best two, about 5 minutes apart

No no! Formation is fine. Just correct the converging verticals so that the towers are not about to fall over on to one another ;) You've pointed the camera up a bit, to get the sky obviously.

Ah that'll be the 10-22, it doesn't like verticals!;) I will have a play in Photoshop this evening to see if I can correct it.

Very nice. Never fails to amaze me how much a sunrise/set can change in a matter of a few minutes. Currently getting a good view of sunrise from my bedroom window at about the time I get up.
BTW, Chris, whatever happened to that photographic Tour of Derbyshire...?

:wonder: I seem to remember something about it, was I drunk at the time? :wonder:

Sunsets are horribly corny, but I too still like a good un. These are good :) If only those trees were vertical, Chris :lol1:
