Hi All,
Has anyone fitted security posts to their driveway ?
If so, is it a job you can do yourself or is it best to get a builder in ?
Plus how much would it cost ?
Cheers

It all depends on how much you want to pay and what type of drive you have. If you have a concrete drive you can buy one of the cheaper bolt down posts. http://www.elitesecuritysupplies.com/Security_posts.htm
If your drive is gravel or block paving you will have to lay some concrete in order to bolt the post down.
Apart from the bolt down posts there are also posts which can be concreted into your drive.
Some others here too, http://www.machinemart.co.uk/ranges.asp?g=117&r=2135

I fitted one of these recently and there good, had to dig a 2.5 ft hole in the concrete for it, so should be very secure. You can fit one yourself very easily if you have the tools - ie auger & good drill for breaking up the concrete.

The autolok one is very good - had one in my old house - forgot it was up - lifted clutch and hit it ! Ouch ! no damage to post, still went up and down perfect - but a new front bumper required for the Scoob !
