A modern flash typically uses 5v or less, whereas older ones could be 100v or more which may well damage the camera. You can get a device called a Wein SafeSync which connects between your camera and flash and protects against this risk. STi-Frenchie 28 September 2006, 14:52 What's a TTL 1? Never heard of it. ChefDude 28 September 2006, 15:08 red herring a manual flash and a TTL one/flash. STi-Frenchie 28 September 2006, 15:10 Ahh... nothing like the use of the english language then :) STi-Frenchie 28 September 2006, 15:14 Simon, if you don't know the synch voltage of the manual gun and it's a Nikon, let me know the model number and I'll check in the Nikon Flash Guide and see if there are any details there about it. |
