Hi my wheels on a whole are looking a bit tired and wanted to give them a lease of life, well as much as possible before i refurb them (kerbed buy previous owner) but a bargin.

What products are reccomended for the tyres, the longer lasting the better really.

Blackfire Long Lasting Tyre Gel - loks great and does exactly what is says on the tin. It's also the blackest looking tyre dressing I've come across, and all we now use on customer cars. Here it is on my tyres...

Is it ok for Worn tyres though as yours seem good and fairly new anyway, but this might just be the good product used (i hope it is).

How long does it usually last before dulling on your tyres then?

its top stuff mate, looks great and last prob around 4 weeks, looks great on goodyear f1 with gold alloys shows the alloys up very well..

As above - I find two coats lasts around a month, even in the wet. And yep, it works just as well on older tyres too (the very tyre in the above picture was down to 3mm and had done 21k!). :)

Great product :thumb: Although me being me i add a new coat every 2 weeks for that extra shine :)

no mate this is still by far the best product for tyres that i have used, i even use it on my quad :wonder: i need to get out more

I found that works well also.

The blackfire one is very good, but my fave is swissvax pneu. Only because i like the matt look over greasey dressings. Its not the longest lasting stuff in the world though, so the blackfire might be your best bet. It also doesnt have the "fling" that the megs tyre gel does.

The trick I find is not to get excess in tyre grooves. Which causes "flinging". I also leave it on overnight before driving.

The Swissvax Pneu is good but I would agree not long lasting. I use it more to dress the interior now.

I apply tyre products to a small sponge (like the kitchen washing up ones) and then wipe on with that. More control and less wastage.
Use Swissvax Pneu on my details and Autosmart Highstyle for general jobs.

Agree with Ant and Tim on the fling issue; we apply very thinly using a foam pad, making sure no excess is left in the edge of the tread. Leaving to dry overnight before driving is best, otherwise wipe the tyre down gently with a work towel 30 mins after application - both methods should see no resulting sling. :thumb:
