View Full Version : FMIC Kit
Matt33 24 September 2006, 21:36 I know a guy who has started to sell FMIC kits for a wide range of jap cars and he's doing a few group buys on some other owners forums so i know my car hasn't even landed in the UK yet but i'm thinking about trying one so would anyone else be interested if i could get a good price on them?
jayallen 24 September 2006, 22:10 Ill be interested but like always depends on price are they a brand name??.. on average the non brand name ones are going for £250 on ebay
Matt33 24 September 2006, 22:15 Hi Mate not 100% on brand look very similar to the Hybrid IC's but he does them for £225 delivered within the UK but i would need to check what numbers he would need and if he could do a little better on price
TonyFlow 24 September 2006, 22:19 May be interested depending on flow rates etc?
Matt33 24 September 2006, 22:24 I will try to find out as much as i can tomorrow and let you guys know what the details and prices are
jayallen 24 September 2006, 23:11 see if you can grab a picture of one
Michael Robinson 25 September 2006, 10:41 £225 sounds good i maybe interested depending on flow rate and need to modify bumper etc... on a 99 impreza.
DARKSSLASH 25 September 2006, 19:21 Intrestered depending on price.
Matt33 25 September 2006, 19:36 OK Guys got a little more info on the FMIC Kits, as the supplier is new he hasn't got the full specs as of yet and he's going to try to get flow rates etc for them but the kit contains:-
1 x Large size Intercooler 600 * 300 * 76 mm ( Core Size )
1 x Complete polished aluminium piping kit
1 x Silicone hose connection kit
1 x Stainless steel bolt clamp kit
1 x Mounting kit
GC8 Kit Fits 1997-2000 GDA/GDB Kit Fits 2000-2005 but the GC8 will fit early models but will need some modification (he hasn't fitted one to an early car yet so he not 100% on what would need to be done to fit it)
If we can get a min of 10 orders he can do them for £225 delivered within UK mainland but i will update with extra details as soon as i have them
JimboP1 27 September 2006, 23:34 would these fit on a p1?
GrantyBoy 28 September 2006, 13:04 Yes the GC8 would fit on a P1.
This kit will probably fit 98-00 cars no problems but pre 98 will most likely need part of in the interior wing trimmed for the routing of the pipe work.
Once I've seen some pics and had the intercooler type confirmed, bar or fin, I'll probably stick my name down as well, so thats f5ish already!
Choppermon26 28 September 2006, 15:18 I'm also interested, but I'd be keen to know flow rates and pressure drops.
Dan.
Stalked! 28 September 2006, 16:03 I am too if I can sell my STi topmount and get a loan of a stanard one to use in the mean time.
S!
monkeyboy840 28 September 2006, 17:36 i'd probably be interested too but as all the others depends on the flow rate/quality
I would not know what was good and what was bad re flow rate so all you experts out there need to post there opinions once the flow rate is confirmed if you's dont mind that is
scooby_me 28 September 2006, 18:25 we could have a group 24 lemans style fitting sesh!!...
i would also be interested.
Darren
carlos-sti 28 September 2006, 19:18 interested to so count me in any pics

tim.gilbert23 28 September 2006, 19:48 interested as well..is piping aluminium or aluminium coated ?
my undrestanding is that fitting FMIC to my 99 classic would aslo require :
Induciton kit
new DV
is this correct ?
Tim
blacky555uk 28 September 2006, 22:24 I could also be interested dependent on full specs and pictures of pipe routing etc
DannyBoy007 29 September 2006, 09:27 interested as well..is piping aluminium or aluminium coated ?

Yep thats all you need. You can have an adapter plate made for your standard dump valve.
You would need to check what hoses come with the kit as some makes don't include two hoses: one to connect between the turbo and the intercooler pipe work and the other which is a reducer, needed for the dump valve. Both can be had for around £20 from demon tweeks
midnightsti 30 September 2006, 15:41 Im interested too, pics please :)
lee-swindon 30 September 2006, 18:19 im not interested as ive already got one fitted!!!, but this seems to be a good price for a fmic depending on the quality of the pipes, the fitment and the intercooler.
GrantyBoy 02 October 2006, 16:52 Do we have anymore information on the FMIC kits so we can get the group buy rolling ?
chris-boris 03 October 2006, 01:22 post up some pictures and some flow rates etc etc and i could well be interested aswell
jaytc2003 04 October 2006, 13:30 Im interested in this as well, again depending on flow rates, pressure drops, construction etc
Stalked! 04 October 2006, 13:47 I may be in once I have seen one fitted to a newage without any issues.

mickywrx 04 October 2006, 23:02 Sorry, but I think this looks like a non starter to me.
R19KET 04 October 2006, 23:19 Sorry, but I think this looks like a non starter to me.
And why's that ? I would have thought it's a little early to tell yet.
It may well bite the dust, but I would have thought it's worth giving it a chance ?
Mark.

scoobyDAZZA 06 October 2006, 11:36 for those with 99-00 scoobs you either need an adaptor plate for your bov
or just get 1 for a 97-98 and get a samco 35-25 reducer pipe, same as i did on mine
i have the autobahn66 fmic and the above sounds very similar, mine has got good pipework,as commented on by PAVLO(zen)
mine was 285 on flea bay
225 a bargain , i'll be letting folks know about this 1 ;)
