i would say when youre on the line have you left foot on the brake and your right foot on the loud pedal therefore saving a few milliseconds when taking off

 

With 70s and 80s autos you'd stick it in drive, left foot on the brake and full throttle for a second then side-step the brake with your left foot. Harsh but it does work.

A mate with a 12v 3.0 Senator used to get MASSIVE wheelspin doing this

Edited to add you should manual hold & shift too as most autos will change up before peak power, you need to be about 200rpm past peak power before getting the next gear

 

Or rev it in Park and then stick it in Drive at 5,000rpm ........


..... maybe not as last time that was attempted a gearbox error came up on the dash lol

 

You need to "pre load" the torque convertor (assuming it has one) by braking and lifting the revs at the same time.

Should save more than a few milliseconds if done correctly

New torque converter aswell i would think.

 

If you manually select gears. Watch out. As with early Honda Autos will only go down to 2nd gear manually. BUT when you select "2", it will lock out 1st gear so it will pull away in 2nd from standstill.

So if thats the case, leave it in D3 or D4 when pulling away and shift down to "2" after it automatically shifts into 2nd if you feel the need to hold 2nd gear (imo just leave it in D3 all the time)

Oh, and as above, left foot on brake and plenty of gas before letting go of the brake pedal.
