swtmerce 17 September 2006, 17:29 Hi Kev
I used Autosol on mine with just a rag! Put it on and left the polish on for about half hour then got a clean rag and whipped it all off. Came up very shiny!

do you want to do mine when my exhaust arrives ??? :norty: its got a few black/tar marks on will that stuff come off??
swtmerce 17 September 2006, 18:07 Autosol is very strong stuff. My pipe had a lot of tar on it and it was tarnished (you know, the browny stain colour). Autosol just takes it all off!
StickyMicky 17 September 2006, 19:29 yup, just used a rag here as well, although i did not leave it half an hour to wipe off

Yup. Used it for years with great results
StickyMicky 18 September 2006, 13:33 one of my staff uses brasso on his polished wheels LOL
Polished Bliss 18 September 2006, 20:48 German Applicator Pads are awesome for cleaning up stainless parts with metal polishes - the density of the foam really helps the polishing action.

phil 23 September 2006, 20:29 Those little dremmels are so cool for cleaning up inside the tail pipe !!
Rasher 24 September 2006, 09:26 is autosol any good for cleaning titanium???
Polished Bliss 25 September 2006, 15:11 Hmm, might be a little harsh, I'd maybe try the Fine Cut Blackfire Metal Polish or even Megs NXT as a starting point. I know Titanium is rock hard, but it's also got a delicate finish which can be easily buggered - I know this from my mountain biking days! :D
F1 CJE UK 25 September 2006, 19:28 is the Fine Cut Blackfire Metal Polish any good just seen it on your web site any better than Megs NXT
Polished Bliss 27 September 2006, 14:50 Yes, I find it has more cut and feels more like a proper metal polish. The only downside is that it doesn't protect like the NXT does, as it's only a polish, not a one step polish/protyectant - on my exhaust tip I use the Blackfire then seal it with Werkstatt Prime Strong, which seems to work really well. Next month we'll also be introducing the heavy cut and finishing versions (for show car bling) too. :)
X30NGO 01 February 2007, 02:38 Bit skint after buying poilishes, waxes, glazes, PC's, etc etc. I'm just gonna skimp and use the brasso for now. Gonna shine it up tomorrow. Is there anything i can use as some kind of sealant/protective layer, on the exhaust, so it makes easier cleaning in the future?????
Polished Bliss 01 February 2007, 17:07 Meguiars NXT All Metal Polysh contains some sealant that helps, but it only last 2-3 weeks at a time. I use Jeffs Werkstatt Prime Strong, but it's more expensive; however, it lasts much longer. :)
hoskib 01 February 2007, 20:52 i use Betterware miracle metal polish. never would have thought it, but this stuff is great:) lasts ages and really takes the crap off of the suface (cleaning rags are black by the time i'm done!)
made a good job of my old Prodrive b/box
