Any ideas what an FE400 Husaberg '99 model might be worth?

sample pic,but I have known the bikes owner for many years. It is on 'V' plate and has only 3 hours use from new!!!,but has been stood in the same place ever since and not even started:eek:

hes asking for £800 but I'm thinking its going to need a total rebuild, shox and forks included,so maybe 600 would be nearer the mark?

Well even if you did pay £800 for it i still think its a good price..... if it's sat there for many years then the bloke don't really need to sell it so he may hold out for the right price £600 would be better, maybe meet him half way.
Good bikes, weak stands.

I've already got him down from a grand;),the only real problems i know about these bikes are the SEM stators give up the ghost after a while and the electric boot cannot be relied upon.

...Its just the fact that the machine has been stood idle for so long!

Depends how it was stored and whether or not it's been started regularly. If it's been stored in damp conditions there will be a lot of crappy bits to sort, rust, electrics, shocks. You may even find a lot of the exposed rubber is perished. Worst case scenario; damp conditions, rusty engine, full engine rebuild, minimum £7-800.

On the other hand if it's been dry stored and started a few times over the years it might be ok. If it were me I'd strip it first without starting it or even turning it over. 'Bergs are fragile devices at the best of times.

Interesting at that price, shame it's not the next model up with USD forks or a 650...

Screwd.
